Two 3.0 batteries.

Can you unclip only only thr headlamp and leave the strap in the hardhat

Asked by Fran June 6, 2020
1
Answer

No. The strap is permanently attached to the head lamp. But improvising might make that possible. Velcro? This is a very good, reliable and quality head lamp. I do not use it on a hard hat. I use it by tightening the strap and taping the excess to the rest of the lamp's strap. And added a soft wide piece of foam on the lamp's forehead part for comfort. There are 4 light illumination settings for any scenario where a light is needed. It gets 5 stars from me.

I don't think these are. Milwaukee is coming out with one (Milwaukee 2004HZL) that you'd have to preorder. It"s only 310 lumen and runs off 3 AAA batteries for around $80.

Whoa, this is $100 headlamp, since when Milwaukee becomes the Louis Vuitton of tools?

Asked by Prada April 26, 2020

Answer

Milwaukee has three of these rechargable (hard hat) head lamps for sale. $59,$69,$99. Either one is fantastic. I converted mine to wear without a hard hat. Tighten up the strap and tape up the looped slack. I recommend this light for its quality and the long length of charge time on the lowest setting. Louis Vuitton would charge $500. if they sold this lamp because of it's top quality. A characteristic of all Milwaukee products. Buy the $59 one. You'll love it.

How far does the light shine

Answers

Mine has four psettings. The lowest setting is good for me for general lighting need. It also gives the longest charge time. The three other settings are very bright considerably, with the brightest illuminating a whole room 25ft by 25ft. Pull the strap tight and tape together the looped slack and then it can be worn without a hard hat. Top quality lamp!

How does this install on the milwaukee hardhat attachment?

Asked by Rob January 29, 2020

Answer

Hmm, your question is not real clear. The wire going to the back of this rechargable head lamp is for the red LED safety strip. (a clever thoughful add-on) The complete head band is elastic enabeling it to be attached to the average hard hat. Using the supplied clips will secure it in place.

Can you turn the light on while it is charging so you can use it with a portable charger?

Only the rear light has the strobe, the front does not. It does have a variety of settings for brightness and spread of the beam

I work in water distribution this has been the best work light I have purchased. Many nights I use this on water main breaks love the beacon light and the front headlamp it works amazing . Only complaint I have is the battery life . I had to purchase a few batteries to be able to use it all night long . I hope Milwaukee can make a longer lasting battery . The 3.0 battery’s last around 2hrs and 20 min I purchased two extras . Only thing I recommend is to purchase extra batteries. Stay on good on hard hat doesn’t fall off great product..

This is a superb headlamp, perfect for any kind of work you might do in the dark or at night. It has 6 different settings on the front lamp: 3 levels of spotlight, 3 levels of floodlight. The lowest level of floodlight is great for most work you'll be doing at night, and gives you hours of charged time. The most intense spotlight can pick a critter out of the woods at 100 yards (seriously, their eyes flicker at you right away). For the safety conscious, there's also a red strip on the back that can be set to shine solid or flash so your buddy doesn't run you over with the tractor when you're out doing a job at night. The only downside is that it is a bit on the heavy side, but I think it's worth it for the quality of light you get.

This is a very nice quality Milwaukee hard hat light made for hard hats but can be used on other hats as well with just a few adjustments. There are several adjustments that can be made rather easily with the push of a button depending on how bright you want the light to be and believe me the brightness is very bright on the highest setting. Please do not look directly at the light when changing the brightness as it will momentarily blind you. One of the nicest things about this is the battery is rechargeable and comes with the cord that you can plug into your computer. This is an ideal light if you do any type of canvasing at night or maybe a church visitation group. Do yourself a favor go on down to Home Depot and pick up one for yourself. I also believe this would be a good light to keep on your boat as a safety measure for breaking down.

I chose this Milwaukee hard hat headlamp specifically for a nature hike that included some cave exploration. I did not use the lamp with a hardhat or cap on, placing it directly on my head and it fit comfortably. The 600 lumens provided plenty of light for what I was doing, emitting light a good distance in front of me. It was ideal for walking without holding a flashlight. Love that it is rechargeable.

The " Head Lamps" I have used for the last few years have worked so well, ( I think they are 400 Lumens) that I have tried to find rechargeable ones with the same Lumen rating or higher with multiple lumen settings. The ones I now use go through 3 AAA batteries in about 3 hours. When I ordered this Milwaukee 600 Lumen Headlamp, I was so thrilled with its features that I did not notice that it actually made to be used on a hard hat. But after receiving this Headlamp and charging it up I liked it so well that even though I am retired and no longer wear a hard hat, it just took a few minutes to take a tuck in the head band to be able to use it without the hard hat, works Great! Check out the pictures I attached with this report.

This is an incredibly bright and powerful light that is very stout and built heavy duty. This fits perfectly on my hardhat and doesn't move around or slide off. The head swivels up and down depending on where you need to look. This is super helpful because there's a big difference between looking at stuff up close and way down the road. The light has a number of different settings. The first is the spot light and the next has the spot and dispersion light. The brightness settings are really nice too. The lowest would be good for battery life and walking through buildings or just being seen out on the road. The brightest illuminates a large area and when combined with the spot light there's almost nothing I can't see. The spot light illuminates a great distance away. The red light on the back of the headband is super helpful for being seen when outside. This would be perfect for working along a highway or out in the woods. The blinking setting is perfect for quickly catching the eye. This also sits on a baseball cap well with little movement and it was bright enough that I could make hand puppets 50 feet up the road for my kids. I haven't tried it, but this seems like it would also work well on a bicycle helmet. I'm very impressed with this light. It is heavy duty and built to last, you can recharge it easily so there's no need for changing batteries, and it is incredibly bright - highly recommend

Awesome headlamp! This Mikwaukee rechargable headlamp for hard hats arrived quickly and well packaged to prevent damage. All pieces included in a blister pack. I selected it basically because it is a Milwaukee product and rechargable. I like the several illuminating settings and a very clever rear red LED light strip in solid or flashing modes. I plan to use it on my bicycle helmet to keep me safe in the front as well the rear from approaching cars. Also, it can be used without a hard hat or helnet by pulling the strap to take up some slack and taping it. Also put a cushion weather strip patch on the front to cushion it against your forehead. It is currently set up to use on my head without any hardhat/helmet. The photo depicts that. It's a versatile headlamp! The quality is the best. I love it!

Super bright when needed and adjustable to less bright when that is best. This product is listed as a hard hat headlamp but the strap is adjustable in back so that I can also use it without a hard hat. The back of the product has a glowing red band that is either steady or flashing so that the the user can be seen by someone behind the user. The outstanding lighting feature of this light is the multiple brightness settings, the brightest of which is so bright that looking into it directly is unpleasant. Below that super bright setting are other less-bright settings that make this light work well for close-up work and also for work that benefits from not having a super bright light. The USB charging is very nice and with USB outlets in cars and homes and other places this light can be charged in many locations.

A decent hard hat headlamp is hard to come by, especially a universal one (that isn't for a specific brand or type of hard hat). I was quite pleased to see this new headlamp made by Milwaukee. We use standard hard hats and were putting regular head type headlamps on our hard hats. It worked but it wasn't something I was really content with. The Milwaukee hard hat light is really thought out. From the internally silicone lined band to the red safety BEACON lighted visibility band and reflective striping - this is the headlamp to help you see your way around AND be seen. This headlamp can't be used without a hard hat. It won't even work on a ball cap. It is designed to fit the hard shell of a hard hat. It could work with bike helmets with some tweaks - which makes this another great purpose for this headlamp; nighttime biking. The options of this headlamp are well worth boasting. There are two LED beams; 1 is spotlight (1 level of light) and the other is the floodlight (3 levels of lighting). You can use the combination of spotlight and high flood light level flood for maximum visibility. There is one button for ON/OFF while the other button is light selection and lighting level. A power OFF/ON restores to the last light setting when turned off. The back light band has it's own separate switch OFF/ON/FLASHING. It is driven from the same battery as the headlamp. My battery life seems be running about what Milwaukee stated. I usually use HIGH flood and get roughly 5 hours of life before I see fuel gauge change to red. The fuel gauge is another added convenient feature. It is located at the built-in charging port. The led will the battery life through colors of green, yellow and red. Unfortunately you can't use a "juice pack" to bump the power while using the headlamp. Plugging in the USB charge port disables the light output, but you can continue to recharge the battery via any USB power supply. The battery is removable for charging with a Milwaukee 4 volt, however, that isn't included with the headlamp. Overall this is a great headlamp, made for the harsh environment. Even the battery compartment is sealed to keep out dust and moisture. A great design by Milwaukee!!

I gave this a 4 out of 5 due to the fact that depending on where you are, you can have the beacon(red light in the back and on the sides on and not even realize it. I found that in open spaces this ia much more common as in confined spaces, you will probably see the light bouncing off of other services. The main reason for a loss of a star, is that I use my foresty hardhat a lot, and this head lamp could not be used with it due to the visor and ear muffs interferring with the band. This is a great product overall. I was able to use this with and without a hard hat. When you turn the light on, the battery indicator stays on for 3 seconds and will either be green amber, or red. When the battery is low, the light will flash 3x as a warning that the battery needs to be recharged. There is a power button in the back to turn on the beacon/ red light on the back and sides. This mode has 2 modes, solid and strobe. This would be great for visibility during emergencies or if you are walking or riding a bike a night, this can be used to alert drivers of your presence. The light has a dedicated power and a mode selector button which is nice. 5 modes, spot flood , spot and flood, high, med ,low for the flood / area wide light. I had another headlamp light and the frequency of the light interfered with the pics and videos that is not the case here. The freq of the light will determine if your pics / videos will have a horizontal band in them , in case you have to take a picture or video to document your findings, you will have a more accurate picture. Also the light is more of a cool blue than a warm light. The battery is in a compartment on that front of the light Suggestions: I would like to see a onekey version, it would be helpful to help locate if missing, it could have a feature to locate light let it flash a few times, or have the ability for a supervisor to access the same function, in the event of an accident and an employee cannot operate it, they could activate it to find and rescue them.
