Q:all these standard grinders have a 5/8 arbor but everryone uses the 7/8 disks. Its very hard to find a "standard" 5/8 cutoff wheel.

Excellent grinder for the price!
Another excellent Milwaukee tool for my workshop collection! Purchased for a project where I needed to cut a lot of things in half, this tool made the work much easier than using a Dremel and a little cutting wheel. Within 2 cutting wheels I cut what would have taken 100 Dremel cutting discs. Plus it's fun to use and shoots sparks all over the place so you feel like you're on American Choppers or something. Why not have a little fun! I also like how you can leave the pesky guard off.

I would definately buy this tool again.
I use this primarily to cut mild steel and aluminum. The only thing I would change about this tool is a paddle switch instead of a button. Otherwise I love this tool. Fits my needs perfectly.

Burnt up
Have had this 1 year. The motor burnt up during normal use. Probably won't take it back because I can't find my receipt. Sure didn't stand up to the 5 year warranty. Parts of coil falling out.

Safety Hazard
I purchased this grinder on May 29 because the battery-powered one I had was not powerful enough for the job. I was very happy with the results this grinder produced, but I did have a close call today with it. The ring that holds the guard onto the grinder failed—while I was using the grinder. Thankfully, I saw it failing and was able to move the grinder away from myself in time to keep the guard from hitting me in the head as it flew off the grinder.
When asked if I would recommend this grinder, I gave it a guarded “yes,” since this may have just been a fluke. If this happens commonly with this grinder, however, I would have to give it a resounding “No!”

I have two of these; one is an older version (all red) and preferred. My biggest complaint on this new version is the position of the on-off switch. It's in a horrible location that is awkward in use. Although the Type 1 guard (accessory not included) is not too expensive but oddly huge compared to the Type 27 guard included. Note the Type 1 guard is smaller in comparison for the older version. In use, this one shut down once for a possible heat issue and it took some time for it to recover.
I would recommend the older version but not this new version.

Great spin speed, no lack of power. I like the location of the switch and the lock on feature, helps save hands from fatigue if you have a lot of grinding to do. Overall a pretty solid tool.
