How big are the pockets?

Answer

Mine is a little stretched our of shape so my dimensions are approximate. This is a small pouch for small tools. Its overall dimensions are 4" wide X 9-1/2" long. There are five (5) pockets and two (2) are screwdriver pockets about 4-1/4 long with an open bottom. The top pouch is for small items, screws, wire nuts, etc. and is about 2-1/4 deep and 4" wide. The large bottom pocket is about 4" wide and 5-1/2" deep and small bottom pocket is about 4" wide and 4-1/4" deep.

Milwaukee does it again and makes another quality product, I am glad that they have broken into the tools storage and carrying game because they have some really innovative stuff out now. This little pouch is just a taste of what they are offering in the way of portable tool storage now! When I got this pouch I didn't think it would hold much and boy was I wrong, it will hold a lot of stuff, I like that it has a tape chain and another feature I think is really cool is that up top there is an area to store fasteners and in the same area there are some elastic straps so that you can put you screw bits in the elastic straps and they won't get mixed in with your fasteners! Also it is rivet reinforced ballistic material so it should last a good long time. Another feature it has that I really like is that it has a quick attach belt loop with a metal hook that slides into one of two slots on the back so that you can attach it to your belt without having to take your belt off making it very convenient. I think these new Milwaukee on the go storage solutions are great and I definitely recommend them!

(What's this)
This is a good tool pouch for small jobs, inspections, or assessing situations. There are pockets for screwdrivers, a flashlight, a pliers or two (depending the size and type) a T-chain for a roll of electrical tape, a small pouch at the top that could be used for extra screwdriver bits (but probably not much else), and a couple elastic loops. It would probably be clumsy and uncomfortable to try to use ALL of these pockets at the same time, but the selection gives you many more options. And don’t be afraid of cutting a bit of the bottom out of one of the pockets it you need to, for instance if you use an extra long needle nose that won’t fit otherwise. The durable nylon cloth doesn’t seem to ravel if this is done, or you can lightly singe the raw edges with a brief bit of flame from a lighter to clean them up. Not entirely perfect, but a good design with a secure method of attachment to your belt, although a bit tricky to put on quickly. Many professionals should find this very useful. Sadly, there is no place for a cell phone… if only the main pocket was just a bit wider.

Well made, but pockets too small
this is a very well made tool pouch. I bought this pouch for installing cable. As a cable technician the pockets were too small to fit the crimpers and prep tool without complication.

This is perfect for quick jobs storing just enough tools for those quick and simple tasks. I used mine to bring in my electrical tools to replace some light switches and it performed well. Milwaukee as usual is my new favorite brand and I continue to buy more and more of their stuff for one reason...quality! Thank you this is perfect for quick chores.

(What's this)
This review is for the Milwaukee 7-Pocket Compact Utility Pouch, model 48-22-8118, which I was given a chance to check out. Let’s get the specs out of the way – Height @ 7.5”, Width @ 6”, Depth @ 1”, the pouch is made out of 1680D (whatever that means) ballistic material. Whatever “1680D” is, it appears to be pretty tough stuff. Not made in the U.S., but Milwaukee places a limited lifetime warranty on the pouch and Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy. The seams are riveted, and the stitching is excellent. I have several tool pouches and utility belts to mount ‘em on. The one gripe I have had is one of bulk with all of them; when all I want to do is carry a couple of screwdrivers and a pair of pliers I feel like the Hulk when I strap on a tactical belt and add a larger-than-necessary tool pouch. This new Milwaukee 8118 is exactly what I was looking for – see the attached photo; I put in a straight blade screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, a set of linesman pliers, and a set of slip joint pliers and it’s good to go. Doesn’t way a ton, doesn’t bump into the furniture while I’m moving around. I added a few drive bits in the top pocket to see how well the elastic would hold them and it works well indeed. There’s a chain holder for electrician and/or plumbing tape rolls. Another feature I like (see the photo) is the way it attaches to my belt; the 8118 offers a “quick attach/release” loop that can be used without taking my belt off. There are two notches for adjusting the loop in case you need more room for a thicker belt. Somebody over at Milwaukee Tools should take a bow on this one – excellent quality, good market price, that’s great – but the real applause comes from not making the pouch into a “carries everything and then some” utility pouch. Keeping the design simple, realizing that sometimes all you want to carry is a couple of tools that shouldn’t be put into your pants pocket – that’s the key. I really like this one. HTH Regards, Jim

(What's this)
Almost perfect, at least for me. For years I had a nice big leather tool pouch with a heavy belt that I used regularly, until about a year ago, when my son, “borrowed” it, and I haven’t seen it since. You know the drill. Oh well, it was a little bigger than I need in my old age anyway. I recently came across the Milwaukee Tools 7-Pocket Compact Utility Pouch. It has a long belt yoke with two length settings so you don’t need a second belt unless you want to use one. You can use the belt you use to hold your pants up. The pouch is not leather, but it’s made out of tough heavy material and two of the pockets are full depth. Which brings me to my only complaint. It would be more useful if the top pocket were just a little deeper and roomier, but its ok for screws, nails, etc. I stuffed a tape in it for the pictures, but I don’t use it for that. The pouch has two almost full length loops for screwdrivers, and a chain with at t-end at you can use for tape, light wire, or most things you might need that comes in a roll or on a spool. If you do light work or you are a hobbyist or a do-it-yourselfer like me, you can go wrong with this tool pouch. This is one I’m not loaning out.

A smaller utility pouch designed to provide compact storage for the limited tools needed for small to medium jobs. Seven pockets hold a limited number of tools that is mostly just what is needed for those small household tasks, screwdrivers. plyers. wire cutter, attaching a tape measure as well as an incorporated chain which can hold a roll or two of electrical tape. It's belt loop is unique in that it can easily be attached or removed from the wearer's belt and has two adjustments. Prior to reading further understand I am a big Milwaukee tool fan, owning over fifteen different types of their 18V power tools with their accessories, multiple batteries and 4 charging stations including one that is both 110V and 12V compatible for on-the-go charging, as well as two of their packout systems for tool storage and transport. The manufacturer, Milwaukee, states that the product features 1680D ballistic material construction, which provides 5x longer life and riveted seams resulting in a 4x stronger pouch. For a homeowner or do it yourselfer this item, an excellent buy for the money, and should suffice for years of service. But for the professional everyday user I am somewhat disappointed with the stitching. piping and flimsy chain while there are other, more rugged tool caddies available with the same and additional features at a somewhat higher price but worth the value if you are a professional.

(What's this)
COMFORTABLE; WELL DESIGNED — The Milwaukee 7-Pocket Compact Utility Pouch is a useful tool carrier for many single-task applications. I have found it outstanding for doing electrical work. It has places for my two screwdrivers, my needle-nose pliers, my wire stripper and cutter, and best of all, it has a pouch at the top for holding small parts such as wago nuts or wire connectors. This upper pouch is designed to stay open so that it is easy to remove the small items - no fumbling around. It also has a tape chain for electrical tape. I would prefer a tape strap so that I could carry other types of tape for other applications. Saying that it has 7 pockets though is a misnomer. It has 5 pockets and two elastic loops. These loops have limited utility but worked well for my two screwdrivers. One loop is behind a pocket so it is not as easily accessed. The pouch has a belt loop for quick attachment and removal. Removal works easily but the attachment process may take a while to get used to it. The pouch is lightweight and comfortable to wear. It is a high quality product with Milwaukee’s Lifetime Warranty.

This is a convenient little pouch. I put my electrical tools in it- a pair of wire strippers, some screwdrivers, electrical tape, and a few other random odds and ends. I like the chain tape holder on the side as it keeps the electrical tape accessible and easy to find without digging around the pouch. The quality of construction and materials feel superior. This is a great product. I don’t have anything negative to say about it.
