Q:How do i get replacement bits? Ive had 3 different bots break and gotten no response from website

Answer This Question

A:  If you're looking for warranty service, you'll need to contact Milwaukee directly. As far as I know, the bits are not sold separately. I can't quite imagine what you would have done to break three of the bits in normal use. They are extremely strong.

Q:Why is the metric version not sold in stores. The SAE version has three slots at my local store but no metric version.

A:  I ran into the Milwaukee representative at my local store the other day and asked the same question. The response was that it is the stores decision on which products they want to carry in stock. So apparently, the management in your store, like mine, does not think they will sell enough to justify having it in stock and taking up space on the shelves.

      The 3mm snapped off
Pro: handy easy of keeping all the hex head sizes organized in an ergonomic device Con: the 3mm hex head snapped off during normal use. It was less than a year old. Con: as it ages, the friction holding the bits in place gets stronger and stronger, like the handle material is getting sticker. Eventually, I had to go get another tool just to pull the bit out of its storage slot in the handle. It would be a great tool if they improved the quality a bit.

why no numbers on ends of bits?
Useful for doing bicycle maintenance. Why not stamp the sizes on the ends of the bits?

Milwaukee just released these new 9-in-1 multi bit drivers. This is the Metric Hex driver. It comes with seven size hex - 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm - six fit in the handle and one fits in the front of the tool. I guess they are counting the 1/4" socket as another driver, but that gets the total to 8... The handle is fairly large - would be find for someone that uses large or XL gloves. Not sure it would be very comfortable for people with smaller hands. The working bit is held in with a strong magnetic and doesn't fall out even when shaken (check out the video I made of this). The extra bits are held into the handle with some sort of friction mechanism, and also don't fall out when shaken. Seems like a useful addition to the toolbox. There is a nice hex bolster on the shaft, so you can get some extra leverage if needed.

I got a great new tool to drive and tighten metric size allen screws from Milwaukee tools. A hand-held driver with 7 bits (6 stored in the handle and one in the magnetic hex drive). The bit sizes range from 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm. The hex shanks will fit into a powered driver if hand torque is not sufficient. Each bit is chrome plated for marine grade rust protection. The bits are 3.5 inches long. This set up will be handy in my tool bag. I would recommend this tool to a friend.

Manufactured in Taiwan in accordance with Milwaukee Tool’s design and specifications, this tool is another multi-purpose tool that will, in some cases, allow one to pare down the number of tools to be carried in one’s tool box or belt. To its credit, the tool is, for the most part, well made (except for a slightly “sloppy” fit between the bits and the ¼ inch drive) with a handle that is (due to the dual durometer construction) extremely comfortable, yet rugged. The overall length of a little over nine inches and almost 4-3/4 inches from the end of the handle to the tip of the bit provides a deep reach for those hard to access fasteners. However, this same length will limit its use in tight quarters. The drive handle can be used by itself as a ¼ inch nut driver or, with the provided hex bits (1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm) as a metric hex key driver. These 8 functions, along with the integral “loop maker” hole provide the “9 in 1” functions. Storage for six of the seven bits is provided in the handle, which requires one to push the desired bit out with the one no longer being used. Retention in the handle is by friction fit to an internal “O” ring. The bit being used is retained in the driver by a small magnet in the recess of the driver (though the bit does not “extend” this magnetic field to the tip to retain ferrous hardware). While adequate to retain the bit during use, it is possible that (if carried in one’s tool belt) that the bit could dislodge from the driver. As there is only storage for six bits (understandably, since one needs a bit to push out the next one to be used from the handle) care must be taken not to lose the bit installed in the drive handle. Due to the length of the tool and the concentration of mass in the handle, it tends to be top heavy, so is best kept in ones tool box (bag) or a deep pocket in one’s tool belt. The driven end of the bits are the fairly standard ¼ inch “power groove” design, which may tempt one to use these bits in a power tool (drill motor or impact tool) which would, especially for the smaller sizes, more than likely damage the bits (and, perhaps, the fastener being torqued down). It should be noted that the manufacturer’s illustration shows use in a power tool but does not indicate that they are designed for such use. Coincident with the receipt of this tool, I had to assemble a piece of furniture with many hex head screws (with only a typical hex key tool supplied) which provided a good test of the tools comfort of use. It significantly lessened the time to assemble with minimal strain on the hands. Bottom line….as long as you do not need to use this in constricted areas, the long reach is beneficial; and, one takes care to not lose the bit in use, this would be a helpful addition for those needing a metric hex driver.

This is an excellent multi-bit hand tool from Milwaukee. It is really designed well, from the in-handle storage of bits to the magnetic bit retention. It has a loop maker built in for forming loops in copper wire. Bit sizes are 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, & 6mm. It will also drive 1/" hex with the bit removed. Bits are power tool ready with retention groove, and sizes are marked on them. The package was pretty difficult to open, so make sure you have a good air of scissors. A great tool!

Milwaukee 9 in 1 hex/key multi-bit screwdriver feels good in your hand. Great craftsmanship and looks good too. Comes with bits sizes 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 4.0mm, 5.0mm, 6.0mm and a nut driver along with a wire loop maker. Bits are chrome plated to resist rust. You can push the bits up through the bottom handle for storage. There are six storage holes for the bits. The 7th bit can be kept in the nutdriver as when in use, or can be stuck in the extra holes along the Top. See pics. I highly recommend this multi-bit screwdriver
