Looking into purchasing this to make live water service taps. A lot of contractors have the corded Rigid version with a square drive adapter. We have a bunch of Milwaukee tools and think this would fit in better vs the corded version. I am assuming the square drive adapters will fit this as well?

This uses Rigid pipe threading dies. Rigid dies made to fit the Rigid electric (corded) pipe threader will also fit this CORDLESS machine. Currently Milwaukee doesn't make they're own line of pipe dies.

No. It is designed to use Rigid dies, the same that fit Rigid's corded pipe threader. But this is faster and cordless. Milwaukee doesn't currently make dies.

No. Rigid hand held (ratcheting dies) are too small to fit this machine.

Milwaukee was the first on the market with cordless pipe threader and boy did they knock it out of the park with this. From the heavy duty design coupled with the 12.0 HD batteries it’s sure to hold up for any job. This thing is quite hefty and has a convenient to help you maintain grip. If also has one key feature for safety and that is the auto stop anti kick back feature. The tool senses a jam and shuts off to prevent user injury. Lastly coupled with the one key they you can set individual settings for custom application. Home run Milwaukee.

I really love this pipe threader. I am really impressed with how far cordless power tools have come. I mostly so far have threaded a lot of 1/2 and 3/4 and some 1”. And all of it has worked flawlessly. It has plenty of power and it completed all my threads with no issues and I haven’t had it kick on me yet and I’ve used it quite a bit. The tool is really easy to use and works like corded ridgid. I had the dies already for it which are actually made by ridgid but fit perfect. Removing and attaching the dies is pretty straight forward and even has a locking mechanism so it stays in place. It is a little heavy but that’s to be expected with a pipe threader. The tool itself is excellent quality and heavy duty as they come all around including the pipe clamp which helps the threader from getting away from you if it binds. The kit comes with two 12 ah batteries they they each took about two hours to fully charge. The charger itself is a rapid charger and once I did that first initial charge it feels like they recharge faster. It has one key which is great to keep track of it monitor some of the features. To me my favorite thing about this tool is I never imagined something like this could ever be cordless but this threader is and I can use it anywhere and no need for extensions and looking for outlets. It’s just as powerful as the corded ones I’ve used in the past and I used it on and off all day running air lines for a tire shop and used about 2 bars which is about half the battery life. This is a excellent all around tool that is a game changer. It will pay for itself no problem and feels like it will last a very long time. Just can’t say enough good about it.

I am a long time Milwaukee tool user and know the quality and performance of their tools. Right out of the case this tool is impressive, from its magnesium housing to its massive 12 amp hour M18 batteries. The tool uses Ridgid #12 dies and the torque in speed 1 is tremendous. Although I have only threaded pipe sizes of ½” and ¾” I have no doubt this tool can handle pipe thread sizes of 2” as stated. The included pipe clamp helps support the cutting head and also allows me to thread pipe without a pipe stand. The integrated One Key allows me to track and inventory this tool along with all my other Milwaukee tools. The One Key app is free and really helps me track my extensive collection. The kit comes in a large case with two of Milwaukee’s largest batteries and the upgraded rapid charger

A Game Changer, will be a bonus in the field, and on many, many applications. Juts carrying this Pipe threader in the case feels impressive. The power afforded is truly unbelievable.. Lots of torque, and the anchor is well thought out, like practically everything Milwaukee makes. Mind you, this is a heavy tool, not for the feint of heart . But like I wrote, this is a game changer, reviewed all the features, as is the norm with Milwaukee quality is always present. BUY, BUY Packed well, and the instructions are comprehensive and worth the read, this tool has some long needed features.

The M18 Pipe Threader Kit is just an awesome tool. The quality of this thing is obvious before you even open the case. Every piece of it just oozes high quality. The kit does not include any pipe dies, but most of the standard brands will fit. Size range is up to 2 inches, big enough for most jobs you’ll ever do. Plenty battery for continuous working. The included clamp is all you need to get to work. No need for a pipe vise stand to secure the work piece. There’s an app available at the App Store to register the tool, track it and even disable it if you lose it. You’ll love this thing, especially if you work remotely where power is not available close by.

This cutting tool is easy to set up and use. The pipe brace keeps the tool from spinning around the pipe so almost no effort is required to keep the tool in place. I was able to make perfect threads time after time. It advertises over 25 cuts per charge and at the pace I was cutting I was clearly going to exceed that. The cutting rate is far faster than doing it with a manual cutter and none of the set up of getting power for a corded model. Just pop the cutting die in, lock it in place, set the brace on the pipe, and cut. I had no problems at all with loading or unloading the cutting dies. This tool is a bit heavy at almost 22 pounds but once in use it balances well with the pipe brace. My smart phone is too old to use the One-Key application.

Milwaukee has built another wonderful tool when they designed the Cordless Brushless Pipe Threader. My first trials with the pipe threader were amazingly easy and worked flawlessly. My first effort was to thread a piece of ¾ inch pipe. I squared up the end of the pipe with a pipe cut off tool and reamed the inside of the pipe as is the recommended practice. I then inserted the ¾ inch R12 Ridgid pipe die into the M18 threading tool. I locked the die head lock which holds the die in place in the threader. Next, I made sure the threader was turning in the correction direction before placing it on the pipe. I did not use the side handle clamp for the ¾ inch pipe. I applied die cutting lubricate on the pipe and slipped the die over the pipe. I pulled the trigger on the threader and the die pulled up tight on the pipe. I applied more lubricant to the pipe and die and reapplied the trigger. I continued this process until the die cutting threads were flush with the end of the pipe. I then reversed the direction of the threader and backed the die off the piece of pipe. To catch the dripping oil and chips from the threading process I had placed an orange Home Depot bucket underneath the threading machine and pipe end. What a great tool! No more running down to Home Depot to custom thread a piece of pipe. The threads on the ¾ inch pipe were perfectly made. On my first trial at threading I only used the threading tool on low speed. The controls on the M18 threader are straight forward and easy to use. My 2nd pipe threading effort I had a piece of 1 ½ inch pipe. I followed the same procedure except with the 1 ½ inch pipe die. With this larger piece of pipe, I used the side handle clamp. There is a lot of torque involved in threading this larger pipe and I feel like the side handle clamp is required. Also, be sure to use plenty of die cutting lubricant during the threading process with larger pipe. The chips that are created are huge. I ran the threading tool until the die was flush with the end of the pipe. I reversed the direction of the threading tool and backed the die off of the piece of pipe. Another perfect thread was created. The pipe threader has the Milwaukee OneKey feature to keep track of the tool. This kit has 2 of the 12Ah batteries so you can thread pipe all day without having to stop and recharge batteries. With the Rapid Charger I was able to charge the battery from one bar to fully charged in 1 hr. and 50 minutes. I definitely recommend this tool to any professional or serious DIY type of individual needing to thread up 2-inch pipe.

I'd like to talk about the new Milwaukee cordless pipe threader. It's not often I can talk about a product without mentioning a negative. This is one of those moments I can't find anything that isn't great about this tool. As you'll see from the video's, if you and/or your company, threads a lot of pipe, you're going to want this tool. It isn't just faster but it's safer to use. This is a member of the Milwaukee M-18 family of cordless tools. The kit includes everything (except dies) you'll need to perform a full days work while turning out more product faster and having fun doing it. The M-18 batteries are 12.0 AH. The set comes with 2 batteries and the quick charger. And because it uses the same threading dies as the Ridgid 700 series, you won't need to buy new dies. But unlike the Ridgid threader, this Milwaukee has a die lock to keep your dies firmly in the tool until your ready to change it. And the best thing about it is, you can cut the cord. No more extension cords (trip hazards) or looking for an outlet to plug into. Very important at job sites that may not have power yet. Milwaukee put a lot of thought into this tool. For instance, typically to start a threader cutting pipe, one needs to nudge it by pressing against the die. This can present a hazard since most pipe fitters want to wear gloves doing this job. And a glove could become snagged in the die. The Milwaukee saw this and built a palm rest into the casting in order to nudge it into the pipe while keeping your glove free of the rotating cutter head. The kit also includes a tool rest which can be clamped to the pipe to allow the threaders handle to rest against a cam eliminating the need to muscle against the torque. Very handy for beating fatigue. The working weight including battery and die is within 1 lb of the other corded tool so weight isn't an issue. Finally, like all the M-18 battery operated Milwaukee power tools, it uses the One Key locator system. If you're unfamiliar with One Key, it enables you to track your Milwaukee power tools through a phone app. I cannot say enough about this tool so I'm going to leave it here and provide some photos and video's for you. Once you've seen them, your going to want to upgrade or add this to your tool box for added productivity and extra safety.

                        Bad warranty service
I’ve had this model and have used it for just over a year before it quit working. Dropped it off at a service center hoping to have it back in 7-10. Not the case Milwaukee sat on it for 2 weeks and when I pressured for an answer they sent me a warranty denial with “gear casing broken” I’ve asked what that means no one can tell me, I was given an email address to send my concerns to and have yet to get a reply. A month and a half in. FYI the biggest pipe I thread is 1 1/4. Not 2 as it stipulates
