Answer This Question
A:Â Yes. You just hold the handle and spin it in or outside of the tube. It reams well.... This in my opinion makes it harder to apply too much pressure and harm yourself, the tool, or the tube.

A: Yes that’s the way it works this is a great tool
by|Jan 20, 2019
A:Â Yes, just like the one on a copper cutter. Yuo make a small circle with the pen and the blade make a bigger circle inside the copper pipe
by|Jan 19, 2019
A:Â yes, one you engage the piece say the ID of a pipe you should hold onto the tool and make a circular motion with your hand and the blade rotates as it goes around the part. Wear gloves and if holding with one hand keep it back a safe distance incase the blade disengages the part.

A:Â Yes

A:Â Yes, the blade spins so that you don't have you turn your hand. This allows you to ream the inside of a conduit in one motion. As an electrician I use this on large conduits. Works great. I use it on pvc, emt, rigid.

A:Â Yes, the blade rotates freely to keep the reaming edge in line with the surface to be reamed
by|Jan 19, 2019

A:Â No. It would be nice if it was replaceable. Milwaukee's website will confirm it. Does work well when prepping copper pipe for press fittings and looks professional.

Blade is replaceable
Creates a nice smooth surface on the inner diameter of pipe. The blade is replaceable as milwaukee indicates. I removed the blade by using a crescent wrench on the right angle at the end of the blade. With a little bit of force it comes striaght out. Replacement blades are 48-22-4257. They come in a pack of 3. Once blade is removed simply insert a new one.

Handy and compact
There are both good and bad aspects of this tool, but the good ones certainly outweigh the bad. This tool is compact. Most higher end reamers are bulky and don't have the ability to just slip into your shirt pocket. This little guy is about the size of a pencil. It has a high quality bit and the movement is pretty decent. There is also a shirt clip attached to the handle to allow you to clip it to whatever you have to carry it around with. The bad... The bit is not interchangeable as far as I can tell. Start working on harder materials like steel, tungsten or ceramic and you will wear this guy out pretty quick. The only option is to buy a new one. But if you regularly use it to work with brass, copper, aluminum, plastics, etc. then you should be able to see some long life from this compact little workhorse.
I'm not a professional plumber but I do work with PVC around the house for plumbing and fish pond projects. In addition to cutting pipe I drill a lot of holes for strainers and drainage with PVC.
Rounding off corners has always been a problem. I don't want the sharp edges left from drilling or cutting, but never had a good quick fix.
Enter the reaming pen. Quick, effective, simple to use. Put the cutter end in the pipe or hole, run it around the edge a few times, the edge is rounded over.
There is a small learning curve to get the right bite on the edge to produce a smooth corner but for plumbing and fish pond work it seems fine.
The reaming pen was used to de-bur cut ends of PVC and copper pipe/tube, as indicated on the packaging. A saw-cut piece of PVC pipe was used as well as a piece of copper tube, cut with a roller type tubing cutter. The ragged edges and shards of PVC were quickly smoothed down..in fact, in PVC, the cutting action is rather aggressive, so some finesse is called for to prevent "beveling" the inside edge of the pipe. Reaming the copper tube also requires some care to avoid scoring the inside surface of the tube, which may require cleaning out the copper particles, if the application involves any components which could be adversely affected by metallic particles. Although not advertised for use on aluminum, it was successfully used to de-bur several holes drilled in an aluminum plate. All in all, a convenient tool to keep clipped in your pocket when working with any of the above materials.
