Product Overview

Save time and frustration when installing locksets and deadbolts with the MILWAUKEE Bi-Metal HOLE DOZER Door Lock Installation Kit. The hole saw installation kit was designed with accuracy and ease of use in mind, making it simple to align and drill holes in slab doors. The door lock installation kit is ideal for remodeling, replacing a damaged door or adding a deadbolt. The auto-centering guide and anti-splinter depth stop allow for centered holes with a clean finish every time. The hole saws feature RIP GUARD teeth built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. The teeth give increased productivity on the job site and better hole quality. They are also backed by a limited lifetime tooth break warranty. Each HOLE DOZER is coated with a low friction, thermoset paint that provides a faster cutting speed in wood and more holes cut per battery charge. The hole saw kit comes with a Plug Jack featuring an all access slot design that allows for full access during plug removal. The Plug Jack enables access into the cup for both thick thin material removal, eliminating wasted downtime between holes. The versatile hole saw kit can be used on wood and metal interior and exterior doors that are between 1-3/8 in. to 1-3/4 in. thick.

Have an old, smaller door handle with a bore hole too small? This is how you address that problem.
Had to re-bore 7 doors to receive new replacement handles. Worked like a charm. I used extra clamps just to be extra certain the jig didn't move. Probably not necessary, but had to be careful because it was a one shot deal.

The jig works fine
The jig works fine. The adapter screw is a pain. Once you drill the knob hole the drill tends to kick(metal door) and tighten the adapter screw beyond hand loosening.

This product is simply amazing! I had no prior experience before using this tool and it turned out perfect! It was easy, quick, and I had great results! The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that one of the bits became stripped after using it on 2 doors, but that may have been user error... I am not sure. All in all, this was well worth my money and helped build my confidence in abilities to DIY!

      NOT for exterior door ise
I would not recommend this at all, got the knob hole drill in with some extra effort, but when it came to the deadbolt hole, it was a nightmare, barely cut the one side an jammed numerous times when it hit the other side, had to finish the hole from the other side an still would jam an even snatched the drill from my hand, do not buy fr metal doors...

        Perfect installation guide!
Worked perfectly to cut the proper holes for my door. The set comes with eveeything you need to be able to properly install a door knob. There are two settings on the guide to be able to cut holes for all standard door knobs. Very easy to use

Worked exactly as it was supposed. Much better than ones I’ve used in the past. I used it on a steel door and had no problem drilling clean, even holes on multiple doors

This Milwaukee Door Lock installation hole saw set (49-22-4073) is great up to one little critical point: the 2 1/8" hole saw doesn't really cut a metal door. I showed the Milwaukee rep at store HD 4040 the evidence, including the cookies cut out (barely) and the worn-out hole saw after just ONE hole. On the cover it states "metal" stating that it will work for a metal door. My rating: 5 stars for the jig, and 1 star for the hole saw. I can't recommend it unless you only do wood doors. * The jig is slick - takes out all of the guesswork. * If you do metal doors a lot (I do) you will want to order 49-56-9210 or similar. * They conveniently added some drill bits for the screws. Be careful when opening the package or you will lose them (loose). Since I do these types of doors a lot, I kept the jigs (which is handy) and ordered the upgraded hole saw (49056-9210). I am adding a picture of the worn-out teeth on the hole saw.

          Don't trust the clamp
It feels secure until you start, then it spun out of place and nearly ruined my door. Thankfully, the door wasn't ruined because this sub-par hole saw couldn't saw all the way through. So, a terrible clamp doesn't do as much damage if the hole saw is just as bad. I should've gotten the Ryobi door kit (I didn't because it screws in place instead of clamp.... joke's on me, I may need a new door in attempting to avoid two screw holes).

Worked pretty well. A hole is drilled in my door, so it accomplished its purpose. I didn't expect the amount of kickback the drill would have and twisted my wrist a little. Rookie mistake I suppose. Like some other reviewers, I got some plastic shavings from the inside of the larger hole. Make sure you have fully inserted the bit before you start. I think mine must have just been mostly in but not completely. Doesn't seem to have harmed the tool. Also like some other reviewers, I found it absolutely impossible to unscrew the five parts that came together to form the larger drill bit assembly. I finally managed to separate the arbor from the rest of the parts, but the other four I think are together for life. For those who desperately try the hex hole, it only releases the pilot bit. Anyway, after the workout of trying to disconnect that, I connected the edge hole bit directly to the arbor and it worked fine. I have not tried to unscrew it though...
