Questions & Answers

Can you cut through 3/4 or 1” emt?
ByAug 11, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Yes — the Milwaukee Compact Hack Saw with 10" 24 TPI Bi-Metal Blade can cut 3/4" and 1" EMT conduit, but keep in mind it’s manual, so cutting will take longer than a power tool. The 24 TPI blade is fine-tooth, ideal for metal like EMT. Cutting efficiency improves with steady strokes and light pressure.

will this cut through ceramic tile? I have a piece that I have to remove so I can remove my dishwasher. whoever installed it, did so then put the flooring around it, lol.
      ByJul 3, 2026
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

The Compact Hack Saw with 10" 24 TPI Bi-Metal Blade is not ideal for cutting ceramic tile. A bi-metal blade is designed for metal and plastic, not for hard materials like ceramic. For ceramic tile, you need a diamond-grit blade or a tile cutting tool (such as an M12 Rotary Tool or M18 Cut-Off Tool with diamond blade).

To replace the blade simply turned a knob at the top of the handle to release the blade tension insert a new blade and then return the knob to the center position to retighten the tension.

The Milwaukee High-Tension Hack Saw is designed for quick, tool-free blade changes. Here’s how to remove and replace the blade: Turn the tension knob (located at the front or handle end) counterclockwise to loosen the blade. Once tension is released, lift the blade ends out of the front and rear hooks on the frame. Slide the blade out completely.

Great for those quick small jobs
It's the perfect tool I needed today for cutting down a few toilet screws. I really like it takes just regular blades that can be found anywhere. It also is perfect for those hard to reach places my larger saw won't fit. I'm a facility manager and I always have it in my arsenal of Milwaukee tools.

                            Great for limited space projects.
No surprises with this hand saw. Needed something to saw through an aluminum fitting on outside spigot that was mounted off the backside of house. Once a groove was started, this project was done in under 15 minutes. Aluminum fittings tend to weld themselves onto spigots. Almost called a plumber to do this same task. The Milwaukee saw was comfortable in the hand, worked well for this project. Look forward to using it again in the future.

                                Broke on the 1st cut.
On the 1st cut of 1/2" emt the blade flexed a bit. Tighten it and it broke where the screw hooks into the blade holder.

My go to tool for fast and easy metal cutting.
What a multiuse hacksaw that covers all bases in wood, metal, plastic and more. I really like the blade storage compartment. The rubber handle insert is comfortable for long usage. I used this hacksaw to shorten the ladder to access our attic ladder.
