      Answer This Question

A:  You must depress the device to allow the fluid to flow to the marker tip. Press the marker down until you see it has "pushed back" a bit and allow the tip to saturate.

A:  Basically you push down on the tip so that it soaks up the paint

This marking pen, manufactured in China, provides a bright yellow marking on a variety of material surfaces (plastic, wood, metal, masonry). The medium point marker used resulted in a reasonable line width, for easy to read marking. Although I did not have a chance to try it on an elevated temperature surface, the manufacturer claims it is usable to 300 degrees F. I did try it on steel with mill scale and a plastic tool box and in both cases the results were excellent. The fast drying ink minimizes smudging and there was no adverse reaction with the plastic material. The ink is said to be UV and water resistant, though I have not had an opportunity to subject any pieces to the outdoor environment. The marking pen is a convenient size for carrying in one’s shirt or pants pocket and the ink flows quickly once the tip is depressed.

The ink came out consistently and easily and made sharp clear lines. However, it was more translucent than I had hoped for. I was outlining tools on brown pegboard and the lines were visible but somewhat faint. I would have to trace over the same lines a couple more times to get it to the opacity that I wanted.

Be careful it will leak a lot of ink when pressing the pin tip.
