Q:why are the fingers so tight even in the xl size. can't get my hands in them.

    Answer This Question

A:  I have the XL and my fingers fit fine but I usually wear large gloves; I have found that gloves like this, with insulation, that I get one glove size larger than usual. It could also be that your pair has more padding in the fingers.

These gloves are stated to be winter demolition gloves, will they work for that you bet. But I'm not into a lot of demo, I was just looking for a good pair of gloves to keep my arthritic hands warm and comfy in the brutal winter we have working outdoors. They are tough, they are fairly water tight and they are good and warm. Working in and around 0 degrees F., during outside construction I found they are good for all my jobs as a millwright, from small stuff, not tiny, and on to big stuff they keep me comfortable. I have 2 pairs to change after lunch and dry the others on the truck heater. Great glove still have the same pair for over 2 weeks.

I wear these gloves outside in the winter whether I am working or just out blowing and shoveling snow. They are comfortable, warm and very tough. The waterproof, wind proof layer keep your hands dry and the insulated layer keeps them warm. The gloves have reinforced fingers and palms that makes them tough yet flexible however they are not very handy if you are trying to do fine work or pick up small objects. The backhand knuckle area is reinforced against shock and protect the backside on your hands very well. They do tend to run a little on the small side so if you would normally take say a large glove, order an extra large size in these gloves. Although the picture I have included is when the gloves were new, I have not been able to wear a pair out yet.

These gloves are warmer than the regular demolition gloves but I still found my hands pretty cold in them during some of the colder times I used them. They have a lot of reinforcement that also improves grip which I like and that rubber knuckle protector which I need. The inside is very comfortable and for the few times this winter where I actually sweat in them they were still comfortbale. If you want to use them with a smart phone or table though don't expect to do any intense texting. The only part that works on touchscreens is a patch on the knuckle of the first finger. I spent a couple of minutes trying to swipe with either my index finger tip or thumb until I realized the SmartSwipe was only on the knuckle. It's better than nothing and allows you to swipe around plans or web pages and if you're patient to hit the microphone button to start the text-to-speech. Most of the winter gloves I've had that work with touchscreens on the finger tip have also seemed to lose heat through there too. I think in this situation, for a winter work glove, I'd rather have warmer fingers than better texting ability but it was very confusing at first.

I like these Milwaukee winter demolition gloves even though they’re not sized properly. The stitching is tight and there are no loose threads around the fingers. There are a few missed and messy stitches on the palm and finger reinforcements, but I don’t think they’re anything to worry about. The gloves are warm given they have a 40g insulation liner. They’re constructed of durable, waterproof and wind proof materials, and have a helpful velcro wrist strap to keep them on tight. Unfortunately, the sizing is wrong. In my opinion, the X-large (10”) is too short. While the fingers are long enough providing decent dexterity (my middle finger is 3.5”), the palm area doesn’t completely cover my palms. For reference, the distance from the tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm is 8” so the gloves are 1” too short. They’re still usable, but not optimal in my case. Both thumbs have a soft synthetic leather material, which comes in handy when my nose drips, but these gloves cannot go in the washing machine or the dryer. They're supposed to be hand washed and line dried. Bummer! Also, the glove tips do not work with a smartphone, but there is a smart swipe strip on the pointer finger knuckle. Sadly, you can’t do much with a swipe other than answer a call. And the smart swipe isn’t positioned properly over my knuckle, which makes it awkward. If these gloves were sized properly, they’d be great, but as they are though, they leave a bit to be desired.

This is a review of the Milwaukee Large Winter Demolition Gloves, Adult Unisex, Black. So far I am really enjoying these gloves. The insulation does make the dexterity of the glove less than ideal, but the trade off is not so bad for the amount of warmth you get. I normally wear a medium sized glove, but this large size fits me perfectly, and my finger tips can feel the tip of the glove. I would try these on before buying. They are holding up good, but I have not really put these through extreme wear conditions.

These glovea did not keep my handa extra toasty when I use dthem, but they will keep ny hands comfortable when uaing them . The hooks helped me to put each one one all the way, and worked just fine. They did not rip when I pulled my gloves and I have used the gloves several times. I used these gloves several times when the temp was below 30, my hands got cold after some time but I was still able to perform my task. They have a thin layer of insulation lining that makes them manueverable.

Finding a comfortable work glove that can be used in cold wet weather conditions is not easy. I typically use sheepskin leather lined work glove, however, not ideal for wet weather. I was glad to have found the Milwaukee winter demolition glove. The key component for me is waterproof then next is protection level for my hands. Milwaukee has both in the design of this winter demolition gloves. Key features I like: -velcro cinch closure at the wrist to keep debris out -pull loop stitched in the glove cuff makes it easy to pull the gloves on -the insulated lining, though gives a snug fit, it is very comfortable -water resistant glove base material, however, the glove allows my hands to breathe -reinforced palm and finger areas that protects the glove material -knuckle guard is great too The gloves have a smartswipe at the knuckle area which works to some degree, however, it's not really effective for operating the smartphone/tablet. You can open the screen with the smartswipe but it's too difficult to do operations that are normally done with a finger tip.

These gloves are a really good choice for winter work gloves. My observations after using them a few times: • They are warm and dry. Yes, most importantly they kept my hands warm and completely dry while out in the snow for several hours. • My hands felt completely protected with padding in the palms and knuckle guards. • The hook was handy for pulling them on since they are a bit tight. See below. • The fit is a bit snug. I wear ‘Large’ gloves and ‘Large’ is almost always a perfect fit for my hands regardless of the brand. These are on the tight side and when moving my fingers around it was a bit uncomfortable. They did loosen up a bit after a few wearing’s, however I would still prefer XL for these gloves. • The ‘smart swipe’ worked perfectly. It’s on the knuckle of the index finger. • The overall quality of the glove is very good. I couldn’t find any stitching issues or any problem with how the gloves were manufactured. When you look at them and wear them you will quickly see and feel the quality that went into these. Overall the gloves are awesome just a bit tight (likely because they are heavy duty and insulated) so I suggest moving up one size. I recommend.

Tough, warm gloves offer great comfort and protection outside. The pull on loop on each glove is needed to ensure a snug fit and the Velcro tab locks the glove in place. The gloves have extended cuff protection as well. The insulated, waterproofed and well-padded gloves also have good knuckle protection and a grippy suede like material on the palm and fingers. The towelling like fabric on the back of the thumb can be used to wipe away moisture from glasses and safety glasses. I could not get the SMARTSWIPE knuckle to work at first on my Samsung phone but perseverance and amending my technique brought a higher, though not perfect, success rate.
