Tired of clamping down on a manual caulk gun for hours on end—or just several minutes. The cordless Milwaukee 12-Volt caulk gun eliminates guesswork and fatigue when applying adhesives and sealants. Just set the rotational speed dial and use the variable-speed trigger to effortlessly dispense caulk from any standard 10 oz. cartridge. The rotating collar provides optimal application around corners and the auto-reversing drip preventer ensures a clean end point. An M12 lithium-ion battery (sold separately) will dispense up to (150) 10 oz. tubes on a full charge.

Does this run a continuous bead?

Asked by Jay November 11, 2020

Answer

Yes it does. It will run till the battery is dead. The speed or feed rate is fully adjustable. At the end of the cycle it will retract a small amount to reduce the drool. It is a good tool as most Milwaukee tools are.

It's an awesome tool once you learn how to operate it. First, if all you're doing is filling nail holes, or small repairs, this is not necessarily the best tool. But if you are going to apply entire tubes of caulk, glue, or sealant, then this will make your work a lot easier. Second, the only thing that surprised me is how much it weighs. I ordered it online, and never picked it up in the store, so I didn't know what it weighed. It's heavier than I expected, but not unreasonably so. The trade-off is that you don't have to squeeze a handle like a traditional caulking gun. This is especially nice if you have arthritis, or like me, your hands just get tired after a while. The key to making this work is knowing which speed setting to use. If you're applying lots of glue for landscape blocks, use a higher setting, but also open up the nozzle a little larger. The last job I did was some wainscoting, and all the seams had to be caulked. I cut the nozzle at about 1//8", and set the speed to about 1.5. Give it a few seconds to start squeezing out the material, and then just use a steady speed and stay ahead of the bead. The auto retract feature almost totally eliminates the usual ooze, but it depends on the material you're applying, and how big you cut the nozzle. I noticed on some construction adhesive, it oozed a little, but not nearly as much as a caulking gun. Also, on the higher speeds, this will lay out material way faster than you can do with a caulking gun. So if you are bought into the M12 line of Milwaukee tools, I definitely recommend you add this one. One other minor complaint: the little round piece that actually pushes against the cap inside the tube of caulk is plastic. Seems like it wouldn't have been too hard to make it metal, which would be more durable. The plastic piece isn't flimsy at all, I'm just guessing that will be the first part to break.
