About This Product
The Milwaukee M12 HACKZALL Recip Saw Kit features a compact and lightweight design providing users with superior control and versatility in tight spaces. The cordless reciprocating saw is only 11" and 2.6 lbs and is designed to give users the best cuts in tight spaces. A powerful motor delivers 0-3,000 strokes per minute and a 1/2" stroke length allows users to quickly cut through a wide range of material such as drywall, wood, and PVC. The variable speed trigger provides users with maximum cut control while the QUIK-LOK blade clamp allows users to perform fast and easy blade changes. In addition to the cordless HACKZALL, the kit includes two M12 REDLITHIUM Batteries, an M12 charger, and a carry case.

What blade(s) would you recommend using on wooden 2x4’s and 4x4’s to make smooth, non-jagged, clean cuts. I only have to make a few cuts, not many.
Use a Milwaukee AX™ Carbide Wood Blade (e.g., 48-00-5026) for smooth cuts on 2x4s/4x4s. For the cleanest finish: choose a fine-tooth blade (8–12 TPI).
I need to cut tree roots, will m12 sawzall reciprocating brushless saw work well?
The M12 FUEL HACKZALL can cut small tree roots, but it’s not ideal for heavy or dense roots. For larger roots or continuous cutting, an M18 FUEL Super Sawzall is better suited (more power, longer runtime).
What does brushless mean?
Brushless means the motor has no carbon brushes, giving more power, longer runtime, and longer motor life compared to brushed motors.
What is the depth of this product with the battery installed? I am cutting the ends off of installed joists so it needs to be perpendicular to the joists and fit in the 16 inch OC (meaning 14.5 inch) space between the the joists.
Hi Bubb. The M12 HACKZALL with a 1.5Ah battery installed is about 11" long, so it fits between 14.5" joist spacing and works for perpendicular cutting inside bays.
what is the difference with the 2420-20 model
