Customer Reviews

M12 FUEL 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless HACKZALL Reciprocating Saw (Tool-Only) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much more capable than expected! I always wanted to pick up a demolition type cutoff tool but the prices, size and frequency of use never quite lined up for me. I came across a deal on one of these so I grabbed one thinking it might be kind of weak but it might be handy... I was wrong. It's hilariously powerful for it's size! It's a bit power hungry when cutting through hardwood 4x4 pallets but it didn't slow down whatsoever! A 4.0ah battery will do the trick for light stuff, but 6.0 without question if you're going to work it. That being said, I would much rather have to swap batteries on an amusingly impressive compact tool than have an average tool with average everything. Kind of like how you don't care about fuel economy when the car always makes you smile. It turns out that Milwaukee makes pruning blades as well, so I often grab this and save the big chainsaw for what this can't do efficiently. It's just so easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little saw My saw just arrived today, and I'm very happy with it. Performance is about on par with the M18 Hackzall. It's a little less compact than the non-Fuel model. Comparing it to the M18, without the batteries inserted they are about the same size, but there is a marked difference with the batteries in. It does have a good balance to it, and I think it will prove to be more comfortable to use than the M18. This is obviously not going to replace a full-size reciprocating saw, but for DIY use, this saw is the one I would buy first, as it's almost certainly going to cover most of your around-the-home needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Plumbers Dream A great smaller recip saw great for Plumbers. Not good for powerful jobs or to cut big items. Does not come with a battery which is of cause all the M-12 tool batteries are compatible. Comes with a 3 inch blade to get you started. I would have to saw it does not work as great as my Ryobi but then again this isn't made to be extremely powerful. I used this under the sink and in small areas where the others do not fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw!! The size of the FUEL hackzall is a little bigger but it still felt really comfortable to use and I have small hands, I took it fishing to saw down branches even some big ones and and I had no problem I paired it with the XC4.0 and the battery lasted forever! The cut was really easy and fun. This thing is awesome! No regrets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEAST of a tool Often reviewers whether it be on YouTube or Home Depot are just super excited for there new purchase so they rave and brag about how it's the best tool ever Here's an honest point of view (even though I'm also very excited). For a 12 volt its kind of hard to believe what this saw is capable of. It's not the lightest of tools and it's more on the bigger side another thing that just bothered me was how stupid the saw blade inserting mechanism works. It's really annoying to have to squeeze in there and turn the knob and pull the blade out Why couldn't Milwaukee make the hackzall like the jig saw. On the jigsaw there's a latch that's easily accessible nor annoying to use and the blade pops right out no need to grab a burning hot blade One more con witch is not the tools fault if you don't have a bunch of xc 4.0 battery's lying around you will not get to much run time. For all those reviewers who claim "a full day of cutting made over 700 cuts and still have half my battery " that is a total lie a chronic lie but no chord less tool can do that Fuel compared to non fuel ??? 2 different breeds overall great tool would recommend to a diyer or even a pro on a construction site

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 12V is the new 18V I have recently built a diverse set of the M12 tools. They do not disappoint! I just did a retail store build-out. I had to hang 100 4x8 sheets of MDF slot wall. I made all the sheet cuts with the M12 circular saw, did all the receptacle cut-outs with the M12 multitool, screwed in the board with the impact driver, all while listening to the M12 radio! I am a believer. I have complete lines of 18v tools from 2 of the major brands, and I found myself leaving most of them in the truck while using the M12. I do have extra batteries, and always have at least one on the charger; they don't last forever. But I have been amazed at how much I can do with these compact, lightweight tools. A home run for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fuel Edition only. Dont Confuse this with the Regular $99 hacksaw. The fuel version is stronger, and battery last more since is brushless. I got this tool for my job and I work with metal conduct all the time, so i wanted something faster instead of using the tube cutter. I wanted to get a Zaasaw but they just too big, heavy and weird to hold. then I found this Hacksaw and works perfect. it does cut metal and works great. however is not fast as a regular Zaasaw and that's because is a 12 volt, but it still does the job. if you need more power, go for the 18 volt version. I would recommend you the extended batteries. goods: Small size, light weight, strong for the size. Bads: vibrates too much.
