It does NOT charge the battery, I believe only their higher end tower lights have that feature.

No, the Rover 2368 does not have threaded tripod mounts. It has rafter hooks, magnets, and keyholes for screw mounts.

Can you use each light panel individually or do you have to use all three panels at the same time

According to the description, you can use the center panel by itself, the 2 outer panels together, or all 3. So, you have a choice of 1, 2, or 3 panels but you can't pick which "1" of the 3 to run by itself, it has to be the center panel.

All 3 at once or just the 2 outside ones light up

One of the product images answers this question, either just the center light can be turned on, both side panels only, or all three at the same time.

Extremely bright light w/ AC or battery
These light panels can be used 1, 2 or 3 at a time and pointed in almost any direction. With one panel on low it is like an old dim flashlight but provides enough light to see your way. With all 3 on high you can do just about anything at night, it is really bright. The light panels can be angled and rotated to aim the light just about anywhere. All 3 can point the same direction or they can be folded back for a wide area flood. The light is about 4000K so not harsh LED style. Colors can easily be seen so working with color coded items like wires will not be an issue. Controls are simple with an on/off button, mode button and brightness button. The M18 line of batteries can be used for power or it can run off a 120VAC extension cord. I think the dual power feature is probably the most helpful. Note this does not charge a battery, only run the light. It can sit on the floor or table, be hung with the built in hook, attached by magnets or keyhole slots. The only thing missing is a tripod mount option but that can be worked around.

                    Bright, Well Designed
This thing is sweet! I like Milwaukee products, and this light does not disappoint. You can fold the panels into just about any position, including face down, or fully back for 360 degree lighting. The panels will power-on in any position, even closed. Panels rotate all the way around, although only one way (i.e. they don't spin). The magnets hold well, but note that it is meant to mount with the power switch facing down, making it easy to remove. It is not designed to hold vertically with the power switch at the top. Now, about runtime - the advertised times use the XC5.0 batteries, which are super common. But Milwaukee currently has 12 Amp Hour batteries with more than twice the capacity, so I would expect at least double run-times with those. I tested runtime at the highest setting and got 3 hours exactly; this was with an older battery. I gave up testing other run times since they were so long. Actual measured output on low, one panel is 455 lumens; and on high, three panels, 4390 lumens (with a 2 year old fully charged battery). Output is regulated, meaning you get full brightness until the battery runs out - it does not gradually dim. The light color is visually a slightly warm/neutral white, measured at 4080K, and CRI of about 90. All this means that it's not harsh, and despite being very bright it is easy on the eyes and colors look like they should. The Owner's Manual is not very good, it does not cover basic things like AC power usage. I found by testing that AC power *can* be attached when the battery is connect (it does not charge). One cool undocumented feature is that about 2 minutes before the battery dies, the light blinks 3 times to warn you that it is going to shut off. It also blinks 3 times right before it shuts off. It does run the battery all the way down, and after it shuts off you can't get any more light - i.e. you can't squeeze another minute or two out of the battery. The one complaint I have is that it is front-heavy. If you have it sitting high up with the panels aiming down, it feels like it would tip forward and fall. Of course you can simply tie/tape/bungee a handle to secure it. Aside from this, it's a very well designed work light.

                    Incredible Lights!!!
This cordless light set is the best I’ve ever had. The three LED lights are connected together but and swivel and be aimed in just about any positions you can think of. The batteries it issues are the same as the M18 tools you already use. The base is lightweight but yet very stable and it also has magnets built in so you can hang it off any steel surface. There is also a built in plug so you can use the light if you do not have a charged battery just by simply opening the door and plugging in the cord. The lights are able to be set in different levels of brightness. The power button and light mode buttons are located right over where you slide the battery in. This is an incredible light that is definitely a must have and it’s the usual outstanding Milwaukee quality.

Superior 18V Light With Multiple Features!
I own and use many different Milwaukee 18V products but this one is hands down my new favorite! The engineers at Milwaukee thought of everything. The three panel light head will open and tilt in multiple directions allowing me to put the light exactly where I need it. I can also choose to light up one, two or all three panels in varying levels of brightness with the controls and battery being in an easy to access location. Of course the light can be set on the floor or other surface but the bottom is equipped with magnets to attach to a metal surface, a fold out hook to hang overhead and keyhole openings to hang it on screws. Top all of that off with a 120V plug so you can run it off an extension cord in a bind! I took this to work the first day I had it and my crew loved it too! Keep up the good work Milwaukee!

                    EXCELLENT New Light from Milwaukee...
I have most of the Milwaukee lights. The M12 Rover is Great, I have 3 of them. But the New M18 Rover breaks the mold. Excellent construction build, Super bright, very maneuverable. You can place it on a flat area, hang it or attach with built-in magnets. A+, Get it, you will not be disappointed...

The light arrived within two days as promised. Very powerful light. I have only used it once since I bought it but I expect to have lots of opportunities to use it on projects, and when occasional failures occur ( I live in the country.
