Weeds Gone
I love this trimmer no more pulling my guts out trying to start the gas power trimmer. It’s also handy having the same batteries for all my tools. Even bought a an adapter for kids power wheels. Great tools You won’t be disappointed in these tools

Trim line jam.
Bought this a couple of months ago because the Black and Decker I had kept having line jams and it took for ever to get anything done. Now after a few uses no line would feed out. Opened the line holder and both lines are jammed. Did they not wind it properly at the factory or is this something I'm going to have to deal with all over again?

Powerful trimmer, but it needs better cooling
I have used the Milwaukee trimmer with high outpur HD12.0 batteries for heavy trimming of grass around my property for about 3 years. It has considerably more power and does a much better job trimming than my previous gas powered Echo trimmer. I am noticing that it is now more likely to overheat and shut down after 15-20 minutes of heavy trimming. I can let it cool for a couple minutes and it will then run for a minute then shut down again. Swapping batteries makes no difference. Letting the trimmer cool for a couple hours allows me to resume 15-20 minutes of trimming. The overheating occurs even when the outside temperature is only in the 70's.
Thinking I could improve cooling, I carefully disassembled the housing from the trimmer and drilled multiple 1/4 inch holes in both sides then carefully reassembled it. The extra ventilation holes did not help.

There is no better
I have had gas trimmers and i have had battery trimmers and my biggest regret is not buying this one first…quick, easy and to the point this trimmer has plenty of power and battery life to handle everything i have put it through and just seemed to want more

Doesn't seem safe to me
Used this trimmer on a small (less than 1/4 acre) and it didn't make it through the 2nd summer. Heck technically it didn't make it through a full season.
One day after using the tool I noticed the battery was tough to remove. When I got back to it later on and removed the battery I noticed that it had actually melted to the tool.
The store where I purchased this told me it was beyond the time period when I could return it. Reached out to Milwaukee and to their credit they told me to ship it to them, because this seemed like a hassle I asked if there was someplace local I could drop it off. Now I fully intended to drop this thing off but the only location is on the other side of the city from me and their hours are not compatible with mine.
I believe it still works, but the way it's melted I'm not willing to risk burning down my house. I'll be shopping for a new brand of outdoor tool this spring.

Loosing One of Your Senses is a Thing of the Past
Awsome power! Took a little getting used to because in the past I was used loosing a little of my “hearing” each time I used the gas powered weed wackier but once I realized I was working with a tool very capable of the job I adjusted my machoism and got to work!

Do not buy this item
Do not buy this item. The product is designed assuming that the string will NEVER jam inside -- which happens FREQUENTLY. Once That happens you are in for a real treat -- You have to dismount the spring loaded cap, which is not designed for removal. Then, once you clear the thread tangle, you have to completely remove the thread. That's because the product is designed to load the thread without removing the cap. Once you remove the cap it is quite difficult-- you may as well forget it due to the frustration level. Once you have AALL of the thread out of the device, they you re-assemble the spring-loaded cap and you have to wind the string from the outside.
Bottom line -- to recover from a tangle you're going to need 1`0-15 minutes to reset the device. And hey, there are always more thread jams, so using this device is cumbersome and time-consuming.

Impressed
I own a ryobi 40v brushless trimmer and bought this for my father in law as he's in the Milwaukee ecosystem. I am quite impressed! I like the weight distribution and the torque and power of the trimmer, even on turtle mode. Turn it to rabbit and it's a beast. Battery life is surprisingly good as well. Great buy on sale!

Nice power, terrible QA. Missing screws and motor came off.
I have one of the Milwaukee attachment-capable Quik-Lok M18 Fuel trimmers that was great when it worked, but after a season of use developed the common thermal shutdown problem many people are having with that model (which also caused too high a current (power) draw and melted the plastic terminals on two M18 batteries before I caught it). I needed a second trimmer and thought this non-Fuel, trimmer-only model might be a better choice. During assembly I noticed there weren't any screws holding the red motor cover to the trimmer base and thought maybe they redesigned it and they weren't needed as the 4 holes were empty and not threaded.After about two hours of use I went to bump the head to advance the line and it stopped spinning, I tapped the motor and red cover back on and hit the power trigger and the head unscrewed itself and fell off.When it works, the power and adjustable 14 or 16 inch cutting path is great with similar performance to my Quik-Lok M18 Fuel version before that one broke, but apparently quality assurance checks are still optional at the factory.
