Best Brad nailer I’ve ever owned, a bit heavy but it makes it up by not having any hoses in the way. It’s perfect for what I do and that is making frames. I love it!

Performs well, until it breaks
Similar to MattV, my stapler worked great for about ~1000 staples then it misfired a few times before the striker got stuck and now no longer retracts. The motor still turns over but makes an awful grinding noise. I'm a DIYer and have mostly used it for stapling flooring underlayment and building some shelves, so I'm not using it everyday. Overall very disappointed in the quality of this tool considering how expensive it is. I have mostly Milwaukee tools and considered going with the Ryobi stapler since it's less than half the cost but figured why not go with something higher quality and stay on the same battery platform. Guess I'll look into Senco or Dewault for cordless.

Another great product from the people at Milwaukee. This is a great nailer for installing trim, baseboards and moldings. This is also great to to use in the wood shop for many kinds of projects. I found this nailer to be easy to use without a cord or hose and is very quiet when using. This nailer is easy to load and has an easy to use nail set depth adjustment. The nailer comes with a heavy duty carrying bag, battery and charger.

The Milwaukee stapler is handy for many jobs where you may have typically used the pneumatic type in the past. It is easy to prepare for the quick jobs that you need to take care of. The battery will last hours to provide fastening for the extended projects too. The magazine is very easy to load. Just turn the tool upside down and squeeze the locking clamp. The tool requires minimal adjustments when moving from ½ to 1-½ inch fasteners. The driving depth is adjusted quickly with a few strokes of the wheel located near the tip. The tool is so quiet you can use indoors without disturbing others. It just sounds like someone used a fly swatter. A LED located on the front of the battery slide provides illumination around the tip for working in those dimly lit areas. The tool is well balanced and can be set standing up on the battery or laid on its side. Rubber bumpers on the sides keep it from sliding off or marking surfaces. There is a metal loop hook for hanging but I’m not sure it is meant to use on your belt. The tool stops firing when there are still 6 staples in the magazine. One thing that I did to provide pin-point accuracy is to mark the fastener slot with a paint pen. The tip bumper has a line for the center of where the staple exits but I added a mark on the side so you can place it in slots or locate with increased positioning accuracy.

Awesome tool! This 18-g narrow crown stapler kit (Milwaukee Model 2749-21CT) with stapler, battery, bag, and charger, is a perfect companion to the GenII M18 18-g Brad nailer. So similar it's hard to tell them apart at a glance, it operates just as flawlessly in single-fire or multi-fire mode. It's comfortable to hold, well balanced, and of reasonable weight to use overhead for extended periods. I tested it on pressure treated 2x lumber and 3/4” oak on edge, and it drove 1.5” staples below the surface of the wood with no problem. I've only fired a few dozen staples so far but the battery charge indicator doesn't show any sign of discharge. There us no wind-up noise when the unit is preparing to fire or when the “bump” contact is engaged - just a quick fire when the trigger is pulled or when operating in bump mode. Power and Mode buttons are sealed “bubble” switches and take a deliberate, long push to activate (about 1.5 seconds). There is also a low-battery indicator that apparently illuminates when the battery is very low. The one minor area for improvement is the LED illumination location. Its location on the back grip near the magazine release causes a shadow in front of the tip. There is no easy-open "door" to access jammed staples. They must be removed through the loading magazine slot. I've had no staple jams so far, but that's what the instructions indicate. This is my first stapler so that may be common, but I've come to appreciate the easy access in front to unjam my nailers. The belt clip is well placed and relocatable, secured by a T-25 screw that, in a pinch, can be operated with a narrow slotted screwdriver. Another out-of-the-park hit by Milwaukee.

Cordless tools offer great convenience. This one, however, comes with too much of a "price" for it to be deemed "ownership worthy". The "price" I'm talking about is the ergonomics. When compared to the stable of pneumatic nailers and staplers I have used for years, it's far too awkward and far too bulky for me ... I build furniture. [Recently, I undertook a '70s vintage car restoration and this tool wore my wrist out!] The tool is wider, taller, longer, and heavier. [See photos.] I didn't experience the frequent jamming a lot of users are reporting; I used Senco and Bostich 3/8" and 1/2" staple.

Another fine one in the M18 line from Milwaukee. I have yet to be disappointed by a tool in the M18 line and this one is no exception. It is built with the same heavy duty quality you see across the lineup. I like the design. The staples are very easy to load no matter what length you are dropping in. And the depth adjustment for the driver is very easy to adjust (the dial adjustment at the top). A battery lasts a long time. I bought a few different brands of staples to see how it does with different ones and I’ve not had any issues with any of them feeding. And the holding power of staples versus brads or small nails is just great. I’m planning to build a storage box this weekend for some rebar, EMT and form pins. And this is my tool of choice to sheath the outside of the box with treated ¾ plywood. I have no doubt it will hold and stay put. And it is a lot faster (and cheaper) to use this than screws. This is a quality tool and with the variety of staple lengths it will accept it is just the thing for a lot of different jobs. After using this I’m going to be taking a close look at the brad nailer. I’ve got a pneumatic brad nailer but this is so much nicer than dragging an air hose around. And it works every bit as good if not better since there is no wait time when a compressor kicks on. I’m just seeing little need these days for air driven fastener tools with options like this.

I’m a homeowner/DIY’er not a professional skilled trades worker, so this review is from the DIY’er standpoint. The model # 2749-21CT comes as a kit; one 2ah M18 battery, a dual M18/12 charger, a contractor’s bag, bag shoulder strap, and the stapler are included so all you’ll need to get going on your project will be staples – and possibly a spare battery. I've not run the battery completely down on a job yet, so I don't know how many staples it can go through in a charge but I really would recommend getting a spare battery. I hate having to stop a project in order to wait for a battery to charge. The included battery comes with a minimal charge so you’ll need to charge it up before you can get to work. Fit and finish of the stapler is excellent, and balance is very good. I wouldn’t call it “light weight” but it’s not bad to handle and it has the advantage over pneumatics in that there’s no hose to drag around. There’s a built in LED lamp that helps light up the targeted work area, very nice when working in corners. A spare tip (see photo) is included with the stapler and mounts to the tool so it’s handy when needed. Also included is a reversible belt clip (see photo) – this is a feature that I never use and it can be taken completely off of the tool if it’s not needed. Milwaukee claims “zero ramp up time” and they got that part right. Fire one staple and the brushless motor is ready to go immediately onto the next. There’s a depth control wheel (see photo) – you’ll want to try a test staple on the material and then adjust the staple force to get a surface or sub-surface fit. I tried the stapler on some soft shoe molding and I found that I could adjust the force easily so that the staple didn’t ‘blow through’ the wood. If you’ve not used a power stapler before it may take you a little practice on scrap material before you get the hang of exactly where the staple is going to go – but once you’ve got it figured out this new Milwaukee helps make quick work out of projects. There’s a ‘bump and run’ mode switch (see photo) that allows you to simply push the stapler against the work and it will fire staple after staple after staple – and that’s where the zero ramp up time really shines. Putting new vinyl on a boat cushion couldn’t be easier once you have the proper staple depth set. If you get carried away and go through the entire load of staples (the stapler can hold over 100) there’s a dry-fire lockout that prevents accidental tool damage. The included contractor's bag is a standard Milwaukee bag, good stitching and a strong zipper. I prefer hard cases over bags these days - bags take up less room but hard cases make for less damage to the tool when it's tossed in the back of the 4x4. Not a downstroke on the stapler - many folks prefer the bag. The stapler works as advertised and comes with a 5-year warranty, and the battery carries a 3-year warranty. Home Depot offers their standard 90 day return policy as well. HTH Regards, Jim

The Milwaukee Narrow Crown Stapler is very impressive! It definitely lives up to the Milwaukee name! It comes with an oversized contractor’s bag, a multi-voltage (M12 and M18) charger and an M18 2.0 Ah battery. It is extremely convenient to not drag around a compressor and hose. The stapler is lightweight and easy to handle and has a reversible belt clip. It uses 18 gauge 1/4" wide crown staples up to 1 1/2" long. I tested it with Dewalt 7/8” and 1 1/4” staples with various wood products and it worked extremely well. Once the depth adjustment was set it would drive the staples completely into the wood no matter the hardness without over-driving. The power switch has a mode setting that either selects a single sequential actuation or a contact bump actuation according the project requirements. I have not used this staple gun long enough to know how long the battery will last but the battery indicator did not change during my tests. Although the stapler is manufactured in China, I would still definitely order it again!

Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 18-Gauge 1/4 in. Narrow Crown Stapler K...
Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 18-Gauge 1/4 in. Narrow Crown Stapler Kit w/ Battery 2Ah, Charger & Bag is worth a look. This crown stapler is light weight at five pounds without the battery. It is a pleasure not to have a compressor cord trailing behind you as you work or listen to the noise of the compressor. The tool holds a clip of staplers from 3/8-inch to 1 1/2-inches which is pretty standard. It fires them seemingly as fast as you can pull the trigger, bump actuated, too. It uses a similar design as with other Milwaukee type nailers. If you've used one of their nailers you quickly know how to handle this one. The layout is similar. The kit comes with everything to use it out of the box, but no staples included. It even comes with a large over-sized soft side storage bag that is really nice. It will hold plenty of extra's. I'm glad Milwaukee has gone over to bags from the previous hard cases. They were great protection, but just too bulky for my needs. The tool comes with a belt hook that works on either the left or right side. It is well done, substantial and not the earlier thinner ones around. The lighter weight tool means you are actually going to use it. One of my uses for crown staples is for thin wood strips. They avoid the necessity to clamp, maybe add a line of glue. Now a line of staples can hold everything very tight and fast, too. It functions a lot like a pin nailer for thicker material. Crown staples are also great for soft materials, too like insulation sheeting. The crown head provides plenty of holding power. The feature I like with this Milwaukee stapler is it doesn't dry fire. If you are down to the bottom of the strip the tip actuator will not fire blanks. Dry firing can be annoying when working fast. The tool's mechanical mechanism is precision made, haven't had any jams or protruding staples so far using Freeman staples once it is setup. The tool has an excellent oversize depth control wheel that holds the setting once dialed in. It has plenty of range to handle all variations of long or short staples, soft or hard materials. Shot a couple of strips so far and am impressed. The tool is up to Milwaukee's quality standard. I find myself using a stapler more often for quick work and with Milwaukee's cordless addition to the other one I own, will definitely be the one to grab first.
