This is not variable speed. It has one speed, 6600 rpm. It hasn’t been a problem for us because we always run at max. speed to be the most productive.
Absolutely. I have a 7 inch diamond turbo blade in it slicing concrete and old asphalt like butter. I recently sliced through 25 feet of old asphalt drive with just two batteries.
Using a smaller wheel would be a lot less productive. I use 7 inch cutoff blades and it flies through hot rolled steel. I use it to cut rebar all the time. It takes approx. 5 seconds to leisurely slice through number 4 with no effort, which is 1/2” diameter rebar. This grinder is a lot more powerful than the smaller 4-1/2” fuel.

thanks for the reply Milwaukee. I saw that cut off saw as well, and it's cool, but I'm cutting in a tighter area where the cut off saw might not work well. It's a horizontal cut in a concrete wall closer to the ground level. So, that's why I will probably need this 9" angle grinder instead. So, is it ok to put a 9" diamond blade on this and make a horizontal cut into a concrete wall? I'm assuming yes, but just wanted to be sure.
Hi there! We suggest only using 7"/9" grinding or cutting wheels with our M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 7 in./9 in. Angle Grinder (2785-20)
With the proper blade
20.35 X 11.89 X 4.33
5/8-11" spindle.
Hi Mike! With the guard attached, the cutting depth is 2.6" with a 9" wheel and 1.6" with a 7" wheel.
