Men's X-Large Gray HYDROBREAK Layer Rain Shell Jacket

Well made and very functional. Cuts the wind from penetrating layered jacket and other clothes. Keeps all water out. Fits well over down vests. Stylish and very well designed.

A quality garment with fully sealed seams rated for "LIGHT RAIN, AVERAGE SNOW, LIGHT PRESSURE" or 10,000 mm. (It actually takes 32.8 feet of water pressure head to break through !) But note that rain gear with greater ratings (up to 20,000) are bulkier / heavier and less breathable. The high tech selectively permeable ("breathable") fabric also permits air to pass through. Normally evaluated in grams per square meter in 24 hours, this rating is not available so comfort remains more than subjective. I'm sure that temperature due to activity and ambient conditions affects this; but, afterall, that's what layering is for. The rain shell is comprised of handsome neutral colors. See photo 1. The outer fabric is tough ripstop material. Wear area on the sleeves and (extended length) tail are reinforced with a soiling resistant black overlay. The cuffs and hood adjust quickly with Velcro. (While ordinary water-soluble dirt comes out of Velcro, don't expose it to gooey or fibrous soil.) The high rise collar and commodious (draw string adjustable) hood (generous enough to cover a safety hat) enhance protection. Sizing and proportions are excellent. I had to add base and mid layers beneath my work shirt before the jacket closure became taut. See photo 2. The pockets accommodate IDs and job notes - protecting them with large flaps. I don't put any gadgets in the pockets which may breach the shell. Another nifty gimmick is the breast pocket access port to trigger Milwaukee heated gear worn underneath. This lined up perfectly with the control button on my M12 heated hoodie. I'm well pleased with this rain shell. It is comfortable and warm in adverse weather. But since it also often is hazy or gloomy when precipitating, a bit of reflective striping front and rear and maybe along the sleeves, would be helpful - then, and for night time wear. See photo 3.

Usually I wear a size medium but I need mobility in my field so I got a large. Plus layering is a must when working outdoors like me.

Several Large waterproof pockets with Velcro closures, large zippers and the ends of the sleeves are also covered with Velcro covers to stop rain penetration. The jacket is well cut which allows me full range of motion when working. The hood is also large which comfortably and completely covers my large head. I really like that the jacket construction is water proof but also very breathable which means I do not get sweaty wearing the jacket. This is a tough yet light weight rain proof jacket. Fits wonderfully over your clothes and even another jacket. The hood allows you to really stay dry. The zipper is smooth gliding and seems to be quite strong. Stands up well to rough wear. I was tackled by my goats in the mud and rain for treats. No rips nor tears. Washed the mud off really easily. Pockets are great. All the pockets are outside the jacket. The addition of an inside pocket is the only thing I would add.

This is an excellent design in rain gear. It is light weight yet made of a quality material with all the seams sealed for true water resistance. It is designed as an accessory to the heated jacket yet I wear it without the jacket and it still fits comfortably. I like the outside chest pocket which is convenient for a cell phone. There is a full hood which is wide enough for good coverage.

I know this Milwaukee rain jacket is supposed to be part of a "system", and the tag says combine it with a Milwaukee Axis heated jacket, but I tested it out with a Milwaukee M12 heated hoodie, and it is Oh-- So --Nice !!! Plus the rain jacket works perfect by itself, and it kept me completely dry during a recent monsoon rain on a warmer day. It's flexible and you can work in it, unlike those cheap rubber rain jackets. But put a Milwaukee heated jacket under it, and make it a system, and I don't think I'll need another winter jacket to work outside. The rain jacket holds the heat in, and I had to turn it down to low, because it was getting too warm. Perfect protection for shoveling the driveway this winter on those snowy, cold days. It even has a little access hole in the rain jacket so you can reach the heat control if you have a heated jacket underneath. As for fit, I am 6' tall at 165 lbs., and have fairly wide shoulders. I have a Medium, and it fits me great, even with a hoodie underneath it. Your results may very !! A top quality rain jacket by itself and so very nice if you have one of their heated jackets underneath.

The Milwaukee Men's 3X-Large Gray HYDROBREAK Layer Rain Shell Jacket is great > really like it and it is perfect for the weather we have in the Rockies. This shell fits over all my heaver winter and spring jackets. It is a perfect addition to my coats when I plow my roads in our snow storms. It is great by itself in our fall and spring rain storms and it keeps you dry. It is a very warm by itself. It is one of my top coats to wear. I would recommend it to anyone. I reattached the coat information tag to the coat in the pictures so you could see it.
