I've had this unit for about a year now, and it is great. Much easier to wield and not as obnoxiously loud as some other models I have used. However, I still haven't a clue what the ring on the right side of the magazine is for...

Yes, the rubber tip covers it, and easily pops off.

What size air line fitting do u need

I’m just curious as to what size airline you need fitting for this gun to work
Asked by: Joker
If I remember correctly, the nailer comes with the airline fitting. You just need a quick connector coupling to atach the air hose to it but those normally come on all commercial air hoses so you don’t need anything unless you are building the air hose from scratch

I received my nailer today. Why in the description of included items it says, oil and bag. This item does not include a bag. Disappointed that I spent $230 for a tool that you don't want banging against other tools while in storage. Disappointed that Home Depot doesn't have a correct listing and even more disappointed that Milwaukee couldn't include a simple carrying bag.
Asked by: Boatbuilder
If you compare with other brands, it's still a much better tool for the money. Lightweight and backed by one of H-D's top brands. I'm not sure but there's probably a bag that you can pair this tool with. Will look into this myself and let you know what I find.

Customer Reviews

Pneumatic 3-1/2 in. 21 Degree Full Round Head Framing Nailer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 108.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent 3-1/2 inch framing nailer I've had many framing nailers in my life but this Milwaukee branded 3-inch framing nailer is one of the lightest and easiest nailers to use. Well balanced, light magnesium weight, and availability of repair kits will almost guarantee you will see many years of reliability from this pneumatic nailer. Bump nailing is a joy to use hence labor intensive framing projects will be easier to complete. Be sure to only use quality sticks of nails to minimize gumming of the internals but more importantly minimize jamb'd fasteners typical of inferior budget priced sticks of nails. Perfect match using Bostitch nails which Home Depot sells at very competitive prices. Maximum life of tool is further extended by installation of a water separator/desiccant-drier on the compressor side to maximize clean compressed air entering the nailer. Real easy to also add a few drops of pneumatic nailer oil (also available at Home Depot) before and after each use of the gun which will insure maximum longevity to this framing nailer.

Only thing I can say bad about it is the multinail function is too too fast. Nails to many nails faster than I can control it. But I'm still learning it. Nice safety feature is at least I won't accidentally nail myself. The push safety is great. But a little hard to function when reaching up to nail top chords on peak of trusses. Overall it's awesome and about 6 pounds lighter than my old nail gun.

Milwaukee’s thoughtful design has clear adjustment controls and well-balanced, flawless function. The build quality is top-notch. My only complaint is that the rafter hanger flexes and I fear it may break.

Even though it looks big it’s really Not too bulky and Feels lighter than what it appears. It’s way more than good for start up machine. I’ve even seen pros using it and they like it that’s what convinced me.

I did end up using it for the project I bought it for but returned it due to the leak. It also jammed about 4 or 5 times driving 2 3/8 nails, It was easy to unjam though. I don’t recommend and won’t buy again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved it but can't get parts! I've almost finished the 3rd project with this gun. Really enjoyed using it. It's honestly a great gun. BUT. I've only had it for 8 months and the selector broke, and parts are unavailable. So now I have to buy a whole new gun. One I can get parts for definitely.

Only downsides is the rafter hook is almost useless, had to switch it out almost immediately. And it’s rather loud. But overall super pleased. Hopefully it stands the test of time.
