    Answer This Question

A:  There are no plastic components to this blade. The red and gray areas are made of powder-coated metal. It is the best pocket blade I’ve ever owned (my coworkers are always trying to borrow it and not give it back!)

A:  The flip out portion, that actually holds the spare blades, is a composite / plastic sort of material. Very tough and strong material. I own a number of these Milwaukee cutters and they have all held up well over years of use.

A:  Hello! The blade storage holder features a metal design.

A:  The blade compartment is made from a dense plastic.

The company finally developed a better back clip for the knives, have not used while working but it feels and seems strong like it will hold up well and not snap when moving around in tight work area I.E. on the dock floor of an LTL truck logistics compan
I feel this box cutter will work well, but have not tested physically, it holds five blades now as opposed to the very first one which only held three

                Excellent Dry wall blade
Needed to cut out a spot in my drywall to place a drywall mounting plate bracket for a light switch. This blade did the trick easily. Nice clean cut as well. Highly recommended

Sharp tip penetrates and cuts within an inch of the drywall edge without breaking
The Milwaukee Rasping Jab Saw has a good thick handle for the strong grip needed for jabbing through drywall. I put an outlet hole within an inch of the edge of drywall without causing cracking or brakeout. The saw cut fast and the hole was quick and easy to shape. The rasping holes are flush with the side of the blade and I didn't think they rasped the hole out particularly well but the teeth on the blade made quick work of trimming the edges to fit the box. The blade felt strong and solid so the saw should last a good while.

                  Easy cuts
I recently got this rasping jab saw with 6 in. drywall blade from Milwaukee and I’m really impressed with the performance of the tool. It’s well designed to do better cuts and less stress on your hand. Features a piercing sharp tip for fast penetration of the drywall, with 8 teeth per inch is obvious that has a better cutting and precision. The wider plastic handle offers a great grip when handling it and doing plunge cuts. The saw is made of great quality materials and can easily be handled doing straight or round cuts. I tried on a piece of drywall and I can see the difference between my older jab saw, the Milwaukee made cleaner and better cuts, I more control over the cuts and less stress on my hand. The handle has a wide hole to put a string or something else to easily be hang it.

                  A Must Have
I recommend this product because of the many uses this can be for around the home and shop, rather it be drywall, paneling, wood, or cardboard. It’s a precise rough cut every time with it having 8 TBI, (Teeth per Inch). It can be used on a straight or round cut, such as around pipes, wiring, or any obstacle that needs trimmed out. The Jab Saw also has a beveled tip for that plunge cut to get it started. It also has a skinny tip and it gets wider as it goes towards the handle for the needed cut. Sure beats using a utility blade to cutout drywall for an outlet, as pictured. Would be nice to have a carrying case to store it. But definitely no complaints on the construction of this product.

                  Great Jab Saw
After using the wrong saw for years I finally decided to buy the appropriate tool for making drywall cutouts. I'm not sure what I waited so long! This jab saw does that extremely well. It has a sharp tip and a rounded molded grip handle to easily make plunge cuts into drywall. It has 8 teeth per inch and cuts extremely fast. I would order again! FYI: It is made in Taiwan.

Loved it until the blades started falling out
I loved this utility knife, bought a few other sizes, all Milwaukee brand. However, lately the 48-22-1903 wont keep a blade locked in. The slightest resistance will pull the blade out of the knife rendering it useless and worse, unsafe.

                    Great jab saw
After moving furniture around in my house, I ended up with a few dings and holes in various locations in the drywall. A few were too large to patch without cutting and replacing a larger section of drywall. This jab saw was awesome for the job. The handle is nicely contoured and comfortable. The saw is super sharp, and the blade is stiff, but still a bit flexible to work well. Overall, a great tool to have.

                    Aggressive sawing; comfortable grip
So far, I’ve used this drywall saw to make a cutout for an electrical outlet box on an existing wall. The piercing tip is quite sharp and I found it adequate for piercing the drywall to start the cuts without a lot of effort. The triple-ground teeth make for aggressive cutting; I got the smoothest cut when I used very short strokes to saw. I wasn’t able to use the rasping holes feature to smooth roughened edges of the cuts because the clearance between walls (3-1/2”) was insufficient to get the blade in far enough to reach the holes, so I can’t speak to their effectiveness. The handle is comfortable to hold and there’s a thumb rest that makes it easier to maintain a firm grip while sawing. The saw is very lightweight but feels very sturdy. I expect it to be the last drywall saw I have to buy. Made in Taiwan.

                    Excellent rasping saw
I work with drywall repairs quite a bit so when I saw this particular Milwaukee Rasping Jab Saw with 6 in. Drywall Blade I knew it was the one for me. It came nicely packaged and arrived quickly after ordering as HD products always do! Opening shrink wrapped products is always fun. Run a sharp knife along the edge of one side and it slides right out. The hand grip is very comfortable and light in your hands yet gives you complete control over what you need to accomplish. My only wish is that it came with the Sheath but this is now in my regular tool box for work and home! Highly recommend it.
