            Socket Holder breaks off
I received double 3/8 sockets. Called Milwaukee and they are sending me the missing 5/16 socket. The socket holder for the SAE works as is has a metal ball type retainer. The Metric socket holder set not so great as its all made of plastic and you have to yank the sockets out of there braking the plastic ball retainer and now the sockets dont stay in place.

This is my 2nd upgrade to my old milquakee SAE kit and i put the new Kit To use and like the previous version was vary study and user friendly. On my first project with the Milquakee SAE Kit to build a 5 burner Flame weedier. The Clear markings on each socket made it easy to find and attach and vary reliable another great product from Milwaukee how ever it would be wise to lightly oil the socket set as it is prone to mild rust

SUMMARY: A WELCOME ADDITION TO MY 3/8 IN. DEEP SOCKET SET. BACKGROUND: I didn’t have a good 3/8” deep socket set. The 49-66-7024 set looked like a good general-purpose set. FIT AND FINISH: The same durable, easy to read markings as my other Milwaukee sets. FEATURES: From the Home Depot page, with my comments as appropriate. • Boldest, longest-lasting markings and extreme impact durability in high torque applications. The stamped and ink-filled size marking enables users to select the right socket every time throughout the life of the socket. o The markings are easy to see when new. Time will tell if dirt and grease makes it difficult. Size is only marked on one side. It would be nice if the size were marked around each socket. • Laser etched part number. o Handy if I ever need to replace one. • Engineered with high strength forged steel for optimized performance in heavy-duty applications. o I contacted Milwaukee technical support and asked : “What alloy is used for your impact rated sockets?” They replied: “this would be considered proprietary information, so not appropriate to share.” I find that a disappointing answer as I have been able to get alloy composition from other manufacturers in the past. • Dual-hole design and ring groove allow for easy socket attachment and removal. o The dual-hole design is slightly harder to remove than the internal recesses in some of my other sockets. But I’d rather have them a little harder to remove than too easy. • Customizable Socket Rail comes with removeable end caps to add or take off socket clips for optimal storage. o You can do it, but there isn’t room to add any sockets to the rail. • Meets ASME industry standards. o There are tons of standards, but Milwaukee doesn’t say which ones on the package or the product information page. • Kit includes 7 Deep SAE Sockets and 1 Socket Adapter. The following sizes are included: 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, ¾ sockets and a ¼ hex to 3/8 square drive Socket Adapter. o This fits most of my SAE needs. • Non-slip hex geometry to prevents socket and fastener rounding. o The radius relieved corners seem to be a common construction configuration now. o I did an test of the non-slip feature (see photos) and found that the socket will deform (crease) a grade 5 nut to such an extent that a standard socket will be slightly difficult to use. But it didn’t round it over. I believe this is because the radius relieved corners appear to be simple circular sections, leaving an edge between the flats and the reliefs. I seem to recall in years past that at least on other manufacturer had a slight blending between the two surfaces to avoid concentrating the force along an edge. The socket did not appear to suffer any damage. • Lifetime Guarantee covers impact sockets and extensions only. • Optimized for use with 3/8" drive impact wrenches, drivers, ratchets, and adapters. SUMMARY: A nice addition to my tool collection. PROS: Sturdy, durable CONS: Non-slip feature may deform softer nuts and bolts.

I recently ordered and received the Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE ¾ in drive SAE 6-point Impact 8-piece socket set. Milwaukee quality is second to none. This is an extremely heavy duty, well-made socket set. The set comes in a nice hard plastic carrying case. Each individual socket is engraved with long-lasting ink filled identification for ease of selection. The six-point hex style socket helps prevent fastener rounding due to the multiple contact points. Best of all, the kit comes with a lifetime guarantee against product failure. I would always recommend these Milwaukee sockets. I have included a few pictures of the set below.

This SAE set of Milwaukee impact sockets is half inch drive and six point contact with a shallow well. For those using a pin detent style impact wrench, these sockets have two holes to simplify attachment. One of the features of this set is the large stamped markings for socket size and the bright white ink used to fill the markings. The sockets are manufactured from forged high torque impact steel for durability and they include a non-slip hex geometry to reduce damage to the socket and rounding of the fastener. The sockets come in a blow mold style case that has a space for each socket that is labeled with the corresponding socket size. Not only does this make it easy to put sockets back in the correct locations but it also makes it easier to identify a socket to select if they have turned and the socket markings are not visible. The case is designed to nest when stacked which will help with storage. In my testing, the sockets held well on an impact wrench with friction ring connection. They also fit well on fasteners with no slipping or rounding of the fastener. Overall this is a great product that I absolutely recommend. My only thoughts or concerns which are minor and do not detract from the value of the product: 1) Once the retail wrap is removed, one has no way to differentiate between different cases of impact sockets from the outside (i.e.: metric vs. standard) as the blow mold case does not have any part numbers, words, etc. on it other than the Milwaukee logo (note: inside there is a sticker identifying each socket size and its corresponding individual part number); 2) Some of the red ink/paint drizzled or dripped onto other areas of the socket during manufacturing.

I am absolutely satisfied with my new set of Milwaukee Shockwave Sockets. I often have the need for sockets that are strong forged steel and can withstand the torque of an impact gun. I use them working on our farm tractor and my trucks. We also use them for building decks and outdoor sheds driving bolts into concrete.I really like the big bright engraved sizes on the sockets which make them so easy to grab without picking up several to see if it is the right size. Definitely recommend these Shockwave sockets.

The sockets appear to be well built. The fit the nuts I used them on nicely. I will know more about how they last in a couple of months, but they don't show any sigh of wear so far. The sockets are clearly labeled, with high contrast labels. They come in the standard Milwaukee format case. But the case is larger then it needs to be. For everyday use, they will probably need a different case, or a socket rail.

These sockets are made very well. This set like some of the other sets comes with a adapter to use them with a 1/4” impact driver. This set has a good size range and a heavy rack to keep them together. Each socket is engraved and marked with white paint to easy find the size you need. The socket to nut/ bolt is very tight and there is no play . They are made well we will have to see how they hold up over time.

I've owned the same bare steel impact socket set for well over a decade. At least half of the sockets have gone missing over the years, making it mostly useless. It was time to get a new one, and this 10 piece Shockwave SAE 1/4" Milwaukee Impact Socket Set is just the item to fit the bill. First off, the sockets are made of forged high torque impact steel. They are lighter than standard steel sockets, and much stronger. There is almost no binding as with their bare-steel counterparts. This means they will come on and off of hex bolts seamlessly, and without the need for tapping with a hammer. They are not just labeled with bright white sizes on the outside, but stamped and ink filled! The text is easily readable and contrasts with the black sockets incredibly well. With my original steel sockets, i spent way too much time eyeballing the size, and switching out the sockets until one fit. No more! The stamping ensures these labels won't just rub off with extended use. The sockets come neatly arranged on a rail system. They pop off with ease, and go back on just as easily. This helps to keep them organized, and ensures they won't get lost. The rail has and eyehole near either end. This allows one to screw these into the wall, or hang them off of a peg board for immediate accessibility. The entire set also comes with your standard Milwaukee Lifetime Guarantee, ensuring that your sockets will last you for the next decade or more. SUMMARY All in all, Milwaukee provides you with everything you could ever want in a socket set. Highly recommended!
