Should this be used with mother of pearl tile? If so, should it be applied before or after grout ...

I'd test it on the tile first to see if it changes color. I'd apply after grout, always good to seal grout to prevent staining.

How mant coats to use for brick and sanded grout? Also, recoat time?

Happy to help, Annie Rae! If applying Rust-Oleum Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator Penetrating Sealer is applied to a more porous surface, an additional application can be applied. You will want to ensure the previous application has dried for at least 2-3 hours and that all excess sealer is removed. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Is this product good for wood laminate floors

Asked by Jr October 7, 2020

Answers

Great question! Rust-Oleum Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator Sealer is not recommended for use over laminate floors as it would not be able to penetrate enough. Instead, we recommend using Rust-Oleum Wood Floor Transformations if you're looking to renew and refreh the laminate floor. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

Is this good for floor tiles in a high traffic area?

Asked by Bach September 17, 2020

Answers

Yes, if your floor tiles are porous. If they are porclian or glazed, then this is useless and you shouldn't put anything on it, as the point of getting such tile is to have minimal maintenance. But if it is a natural stone tile.... this is an impregnating sealer, so its not a surface layer that wears out. But, you will want to reapply after a couple years or so depending on waer and atmospheric conditions can play a role. .

resists dirt from animals like urine?

Asked by Juan September 14, 2020

Answers

Happy to help Juan! Rust-Oleum Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator Sealer is a penetrating sealer, it is not a film forming sealer, it forms an invisible barrier that is resistant to moisture and stains while allowing vapor to escape. Since pet urine is very acidic, it will not protect from long term exposure. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

Can this product be applied to MSI natural stone style? If so, what is the coverage for this type...

Answer

Thanks for reaching out. Rust-Oleum Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator Penetrating Sealer can be applied to MSI natural stone. Apply the Sealer evenly only to the top of the stone until slightly damp using a clean white towel, paint brush or paint roller, do not allow any of the solution to run down the side of the stone. Spray application is not recommended. Allow the Sealer to remain on the surface for 3-5 minutes, then remove all excess with a clean towel. All excess must be wiped from the surface, allowing none to reach the side of the stone, do not allow to dry on the surface. Due to variations between substrates, sample testing is recommended to assure maximum performance and suitability. Since 511 is a penetrating sealer, coverage will depending on the porosity of the substrate being sealed. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

how long do I have to wait to seal newly installed grout

Asked by rick August 29, 2020

Answers

Great question Rick! Rust-Oleum Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator Sealer forms an invisible barrier that is resistant to moisture and stains while allowing vapor to escape. Once grouted, make sure that all grout residue is removed from the surface with a clean sponge and water. Allow grout to cure per manufacturers specification. If grout clean up is not performed effectively, an additional cleaning may be necessary to remove remaining grout residue or haze. Apply 511 Impregnator as directed on the label, allowing the solution to remain on the surface for 3-5 minutes. After that time wipe off all excess sealer with a clean towel. Do not allow the sealer to dry on the surface. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

Good question Liz! Yes, you can apply a second coat of Rust-Oleum Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator Sealer on your tile floor. Like the first coat, apply the solution as directed on the label, allow to remain on the surface for 3-5 minutes. After that time, wipe up all excess sealer with a clean towel. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

I sealed my tile with one coat before grouting & i was wondering if i could put a second coat now that the grout is in?

Yes and it works! I have glass tiles around my sink and pebble tiles around a wood burning fireplace and the grout has remained stain-free for 3 years now.

It says Sealer because it’s NOT just for grout. I sealed both tiled bathroom floors - ALL OF THE FLOOR. 2 coats. Did the water test- beaded up nicely. I also sealed my tiled shower stall floor- also beaded up nicely. But more importantly, it didn’t make the floor slippery!!

I know it has been a long time since I used this product (about 10 years) and I have tried everything to remove the sealer. I finally found a product that will work, and it is going to take a lot of work. I would not normally write a negative review after this long, but they indicate it will not yellow. Well mine did and it looks horrible. The eight years that it looked good is not worth the time and effort it will take to fix it.

Used this on my grout joints in my new porcelain shower project. Most experts said that the porcelain tiles themselves don't need to be sealed and since this product is so expensive I wanted to come up with a way not to waste it by covering the tiles as I did the grout joints. I ended up using a sponge type paint brush that fit perfect in my grout joints and then just wiped off any excess that got on the tile. Gave it 2 applications. Very happy with the product.
