Great pad!
Thankful for the other reviews which led me to purchase this rug pad. Sure, it needed to be trimmed a little but that's not a big deal. The pad gave us just the right amount of cushion to make it more comfortable to walk on our rug (which is on a tile floor)

Tried many different rug pads to keep my large area...
Tried many different rug pads to keep my large area rugs in place in carpeted rooms; FINALLY found product that works! Unlike the others, this one along with two side rug tape, keeps area rug in place; doesn't bunch when furniture is moved; doesn't slowly creep when you walk on it. Also adds nice layer of soft cushioning!

Beautiful with alot of work
Beautiful rug; however, it was rolled so tight when we received it there was so many waves. Days after laying it flat and using books to get the edges down i finally found a YouTube video with a person who had the same issue. Being able to follow the instructions. After an hour on hands and knees, using a wet towel and steam iron, we were able to get it flat. What a disaster.

Mohawk Home 5 ft. x 7 ft. Dual Surface Felted Rug Pad
This Mohawk felt pad is the first one that we tried that is solid and thick. With hardwood floors, we always bought the open weave grip-type area rug pads. The Mohawk pad has more cushion to it and feels nice to walk on; our area rug isn’t very soft and the pad helps. The pad’s rubber backing also does a good job keeping it in place.
The pad was shipped folded instead of rolled and we thought that the fold marks would be a problem, but the pad lays flat even though you can see where it was folded.
It is reversible if you want to put a rug on top of carpeting. It is also easier to put in place versus the open weave style which sticks to the floor and takes a while to get everything in the exact position.
Our current area rug has a soft backing, so it’s okay the pad being a few inches smaller, it allows the edges of rug to lay flat. It seems, if we had a thicker area rug with a rough backing, we would want a thinner pad to be even with the edges of the rug to keep the backing from scratching the floor. Doing this though, might not let the rug lay flat around edges.
The pad can be easily trimmed, if needed. So far, it is working out great for our area rug.

Well made from quality materials
I have used single surface rubber area carpet pads in the past only to have them breakdown and leave residue on my hardwood floors. The material dried out and became like powder, so I was really looking for something of better quality that wouldn’t breakdown or leave a residue on my floors. I wanted this pad because it was made by Mohawk. I expected it to be well made and use good quality materials.
This dual surface rug pad is made with felt and a rubber backing. The pad is around 5/16 inches thick and the felt surface is consistent, dense, and firm but offers a nice cushion when placed under your area rug. The rubber backing is similar to the rubber backing on a “Runner” rug. I have several Mohawk runner rugs and the rubber backing does not breakdown over time.
You place the rubber side down on hard surface floors and the felt side down if you are using the pad on top of carpeted floor. Pads with more density result in less wear and tear on the carpet's surface and more cushioning for the feet. I have only owned this pad for a short time, but I am very happy with the quality and performance of this rug pad.

Does the job!
Rug pads are a lot like “health food” -- you know they’re good for you (or your area rug), but it’s easy to put off buying them. This version from Mohawk makes it affordable to do the right thing.
A couple of years ago, we got an area rug for our dining room, and since it was positioned under a heavy wood table, we figured that would keep it from shifting around much and so a rug pad wasn’t essential. Wrong. Fast forward to last month and while deep cleaning the room, we realized that even in a low traffic room, the area rug was showing signs that it needed a rug pad. So we chose this one from Mohawk and are pretty satisfied, with a couple of caveats: 1) there was a strong enough odor (probably from the rubber backing) that we needed to let the pad air out in the basement for a few days (see pics), and 2) the “felt” side of the pad was somewhat rougher than others we have bought in the past. Maybe this roughness is from the post industrial recycled fibers used for the felt side? Regardless, neither issue is a big deal, and this pad will solve the problem of our rug shifting (even under the weight of the table) and curling up on the edges. Learn from our mistake: once you’ve made the investment in a nice area rug, protect that investment with a quality rug pad.

A high quality rug pad.
Over the years my wife and I have been very happy with Mohawk products. This 5 ft. by 7 ft. premium dual surface felted rug pad is exactly what we have been looking for to place under our 5 by 7 foot area rug on our basement floor. This pad does an excellent job cushioning and insulating our feet from the cold hard concrete. The pad was easily trimmed to fit our area rug without issue. The pad appears to be well made and should provide years of service. See attached photographs. Well-done Mohawk Home

Easy to handle and not heavy
We really like this pad. It went down easy – easy to handle and not heavy. It had straight cut edges all the way around. The top of the pad is felt and the bottom is made with a slip resistant material or rubber to keep it from moving. We liked the thickness but our main purpose was to keep our rug from sliding or “bunching” up. It does give your rug a bit of a cushion and rug pads in general do extend a rugs life.

It is soft to step on. I needed to cut some because I have 8x10 rug and ordered 8x10 of this rug pad. It doesnt slip too. My dog loves to sleep and lay in our rug.

Trust Me, You NEED This Rug Pad!
This is my first time owning a rug pad, but it’s a must from now on! I absolutely love that this rug pad works on floors with or without carpet and the instructions were super easy. We were able to easily cut any excess material to fit our rug perfectly. We received it to go with our Cheetah Spots rug, which is the 8’ x 10’ size and the rug pad fit it perfectly with only about an inch of excess. Ever since we laid then rug down with the rug pad underneath, the rug has not moved at all. Since I use the rug in my home office, I’m able to roll my desk chair along the rug even at the edge and it doesn’t lift at all. You definitely NEED a Mohawk Home rug pad if you’re on the fence about it!
