Q:can I mix the potassium chloride and sodium chloride in my water softener tank? i want to reduce salt intake and save a little money at the same time.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, our water softener products are both compatible and interchangeable. However, we recommend checking the owner's manual of your water softener unit in the event this combination requires a change in settings. In addition, since Potassium Chloride dissolves slower than Sodium Chloride we recommend periodic check of the tank for bridging.

A:  I don't have a monthly service to install the pellets, but it's a very simple process. Every 4 months or so I dump 2 bags of the potassium chloride in the brine tank and I'm good to go. watch the YouTube video's

I do recommend this product but this is NOT the product that was loaded into my car. I requested it be loaded by a store employee because I'm seventy years old and just can't manage it anymore. I did not discover until I got home. Not going to haul 400lbs of the crap they gave back to the store 30 miles away. See the pic for what I ended up with from the North American Salt Company... not the Morton... and It rates inferior as it pertains to performance and softener equipment compared to the Morton.

Great product. Would be better if I could have had help loading it up and in my vehicle.

Although apparently competitively priced, seems way overpriced for what it is used for. The spot price of this stuff is down by about 2/3 compared to even just a year ago.
