Do you need to glue it down?
        ByAug 15, 2025
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

Please do not glue these tiles down. These tiles are free-floating and made of a polypropylene plastic meaning they will expand and contract based on temperature. When you install you will want to leave 1/2" gap around the perimeter to allow for the tiles to expand as needed.

A great solution to cover an ugly garage floor
I used this product to cover over a seventy year old garage floor disaster. It went down easy enough. I used a 1' long 2x4 block to step on and lock the pieces together. In this application the 12" X 12" squares, plus the 3" border pieces fit the area perfectly! I think the material durable enough to do the job it was intended to do. It is EXACTLY like the more expensive RaceDeck product, in fact it comes from the same factory. This is the first time using the diamond plate design, but I like the solid surface better than the open style I previously used. Pros: Everything above. I recommend this product. Cons: Nothing. The RaceDeck brand is available in more colors, but this is just a garage and the goal was to cover a bad concrete finishing job with something that had a easy to clean texture. BTW: My sales associate was Scott Waller. Scott was knowledgeable and good to work with. Excellent communication and everything went exactly as he said.

The tiles are very easy to put down
I ordered these tiles and they arrived just as the shipping informed. I placed them over garden fabric which helps with sound and the cold garage floor. I put them down with temps around 40 degrees in the garage but 29 outside. It took me about 5 hrs to put the floor down by myself. I recommend purchase and using these tiles.

                        Quite pleased
It's only been a month or so, but I'm pleased I chose this path versus wrestling with epoxy again. Installation went as planned after researching how others have done it. I used a double layer of landscape fabric underneath. I don't know how to judge how much it makes a difference, but I'm glad I did. I used an oscillating tool to do the cuts which went well.

Easy install, nice patterns, great final look. Just installed and haven't had them down for too long, but pleased at this point. Car parks seamlessly on it and looking forward to having the garage available for increased dad space. Don't copy my pattern!
