Can the swing away version be opened from the outside without the locking kit?

Answer

The locking kit is installed up to 32″ below the window which would be impossible for someone to reach. If you do not want to purchase the locking kit, the window bar can be locked with a padlock (on non-emergency exit windows).

Can two be used one above the other to get more height?

Hello, Yes you can install 2 bars above each other. See attached Image. 2 "D" bars will protect window heights from 53″–60″ high Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Why is the maximum and minimum height the same?

Answer

This model height is fixed at 21" which is why the min and max are the same, it does expand horizontally which is why the min is 21 and max 28. This bar can fit in a window with a height of 21" to 33" as you can have a maximum of 6 in. space above and below the security bar and still fully secure your window.

Answer

We have designed our window bars to be installed on the inside of your home, you would lock the window bar inside your house. Interior installation means better security since the glass must be broken before attempting to defeat the bars.
