5000 btu uses 417-625 watts and a 18000 btu uses 1500-2250 watts so this unit puts out 300 watts on a clear day clouds and overcast can effect this so no 1 panel with a battery i don't think its enough sorry.

A 7Ah battery could "theoretically" provide 7 amps for an hour at 12 volts. That's about 84 watts. If you use an inverter to convert to 120 volts, the inverter itself will eat up some watts. That's the battery alone. The solar panel will provide power in addition to the battery. The TV likely uses less than 100 watts so you might be OK with that but not the heater. Only recommendation would be a much larger battery and/or much larger solar panel.

Can this run a 115v, 17 inch exhaust fan?

Asked by Matt March 26, 2021

Answers

It will depend on the power consumption of the fan. In order to determine a set up for your system you will have to know the amperage of each item in your setup and how long you will be using them. Basic fan, only ventilation units can use as little as 6 watts, for highly efficient models, or there is many standard units which often uses around 60 watts an hour. for this kit, combined w/ 100Ah deep cycle battery, it will give you about 500W on sunny day to use per day. You can use that wattage out of your battery in any number of ways, by TV lights or any other device, but that is all you have to work with a day .A 100Ah battery deep cycle lead acid , gel or AGM should be the minimum to use to get the full potential of this kit. there is 4 major components needed to set up your solar off grid system. Solar panels , charge controller to control the charge to the battery bank, battery or battery bank for power storage and an inverter to transfer Dc power from the battery to an AC power that you can use your appliances on. Please feel free to call or contact Nature Power by e-mail or phone at 1800-588-0590 to answer any questions. You might have.

what kind of mounting is used to attach this panel to the roof ?

Asked by lark January 23, 2021

The solar panel comes with 4 Z-bracket type mounts w/ screws to fix on the enter frame of the solar panel, this will allow you to mount the solar panel flat on any surface, you will have to fit the correct screws with the surface. Nature power will not guarantee any mounting of panels on roofs, Nature Power is not responsible for leaks resulting from mounting solar panels on roof tops. Please feel free to contact us at 1800-588-0590 for any more questions.

I bought this combo kit for my mobile mechanic truck setup. I installed the solar panel on the top of my truck topper and connected the charge controller to a 12v battery along with the inverter. This allows me to keep my power tool batteries charged, run lights inside the topper and even use power tools that require 110v on the go. I am very happy with this set up. I would highly recommend this set up.

I purchased this kit as an alternative to carrying a flashlight into my 12x20 shed. Everything I needed was in the box and I had an extra battery lying around that I added for power storage. I assembled the kit and tested everything in a sunny spot in the back yard before mounting the panel on the roof of my shed. After reconnecting everything, I could not get a reading from the panel which I thought was because my shed is in filtered sunlight from a large oak tree, however when I rechecked the panel wires, I discovered that the red cable had pulled loose from inside the panel junction box requiring some fresh solder. The strain relief caps were on, but loose from the factory, so I recommend double checking they are tight before mounting your panel. Once repaired, everything worked perfectly. The panel provides plenty of power during the day, even on cloudy days under the shade of a large live oak tree. Hopefully the performance remains the same when the tree fills out in the spring and summer. I am using one panel and one 12v 35AH battery to power a 48" LED shop light and it is nice and bright in my shed at last!

frame broke with snow melt
This was easy to install and works very well. But it's not made to withstand the weight of snow. The fasteners stayed in place in the roof while the frame broke around them as the snow melted and the weight of the moving snow mass dragged the panel off the roof. We are reinforcing the frame and hopefully next time it will stay in place, and adding an extra panel on a sunny wall rather than exposed roof - however for a long term outside product, an aluminium frame might not be ideal in areas with inclement weather ....

All worked but power from panel is weak
I received this and tested it. When there it was smoky sky and no sun light 4PM, the current flow into battery was 120mA. When it was sunlight 11AM, at no load I saw 1.15A current flow into battery (mighty max 35 AH) at 14V. With 60 watts light bull I saw 3.25A flow into battery while current flow into inverter was 4.8A. 3.25A X 14V = 45.5 watts which is ~50% from 100 watts. I can use this for router, and monitor and laptop when power got cut off to work from home.

All I received was the solar panel. Reason I ordered it was because of the additional parts thrown in. And there is no record of my purchase on your website so no receipt which means I can't exactly return it or ask for rest of my order. This survey is closest I have to proof of purchase
