Square Catch Basin Kit with galvanized steel grate is an easy home improvement project to install, and captures heavy flows from driveways, parking lots, and landscaped areas. The 12 in. Square Catch Basin Drain Kit has all the components you need to connect to drain pipe: a 12 in. catch basin with two openings, 2 outlet adapters which connect to 3 in. & 4 in. drain pipes, a galvanized steel grate, and 1 plug. As part of a complete drainage system, the catch basin directs water to connected drain pipes which carry the water to a discharge point downstream such as a pop-up emitter, or to percolate into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench. The catch basin is made of polypropylene and the drain grate, also known as a drain cover, is made of galvanized steel. The grate is rated for NDS Class B loads when properly installed. A: Hi Marty, the galvanize grate has a grate opening of 3⁄4" which makes it not ADA compliant. ADA has specified that for a drain grate to be ADA compliant it cannot have openings greater than 1/2" perpendicular to the predominant direction of travel. Thank you for contacting NDS. The only problem I have with these is the price...

The only problem I have with these is the price increase. These are the most effective catch basins due to the metal grate. However, withe the wider openings in the gate the you are more susceptible to debris entering into your drainage system.
