Product Details

When your property is prone to stormwater flooding, you'll need to drain the excess water before it creates slip hazards and costly property damage. The 12 in. Square Catch Basin Kit with galvanized steel grate is an easy home improvement project to install and captures heavy flows from driveways, parking lots and landscaped areas. The 12 in. Square Catch Basin Drain Kit has all the components you need to connect to drain pipe: a 12 in. catch basin with 2 openings, 2 outlet adapters which connect to 3 in. and 4 in. drain pipes, a galvanized steel grate and 1 plug. As part of a complete drainage system, the catch basin directs water to connected drain pipes which carry the water to a discharge point downstream such as a pop-up emitter or to percolate into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench. The catch basin is made of polypropylene and the drain grate, also known as a drain cover, is made of galvanized steel.

Q:If connected to a 4" pipe, how far below the surface of the grate will the top of the 4" pipe be? Trying to figure out how far below grade the initially connected pipe will be...

Answer This Question

A:  To connect a 4" sewer or drain pipe to a 12" catch basin you will need #1243. Part# 1243 is a 3 and 4 inch pipe outlet. When connection the 4" pipe to the basin, the top of pipe will be approximately 5-7/8" below the surface.

    Seems like a great product. Unfortunately mine didn’t come with the outlet plug. So I’ll be returning it. So much for getting this end before the next storm.
