Product Details

Prevent unwanted debris from clogging your drainage system as you drain away light flows of stormwater from small mulched landscape beds, natural areas, and window wells. The 3 in. Atrium Drain Grate has a domed design that rises above the surface of the ground to block leaves, mulch, and other debris near the base of the drain grate while allowing stormwater to flow through the top. The 3 in. atrium dome drain grate has an open surface area of 9.4 sq. in. and a flow rate of 29 GPM. Connect to 3 in. sewer and drain pipe & fittings, 3 in. single-wall corrugated pipe, and 3 in. triple-wall pipe for a soil-tight fit. Built to stand up to the elements, the atrium drain grate is made of polyethylene, a type of plastic, using a combination of virgin and recycled content treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking from the sun. As part of a complete drainage system, the drain grate (also known as a drain cover) drains water entering drain pipes. The pipes carry the water to a discharge point downstream such as a pop-up emitter, or to percolate into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench. Q:Will this hold up to Calcium Hypochlorite used as a filter/ holder for 2 5/8"dia. tabs in a septic drain line chlorinator and can standard pvc pipe glue be used to attach to 3" schd. 35 drain line ? Thanks.

A:  Hi Curious, Our grates provide a mechanical barrier that help filter out large debris that helps minimize clogging of the drainage system but allows stormwater through the grate. Our 3" Plastic round atrium drain grate is intended for stormwater use only and not to be use on a Calcium Hypochlorite for Disinfections In Onsite Aerobic Waste Treatment Septic Systems.

    A:  Yes, they will connect to pipe. However I had a horizontal drain pipe that was not accepting the water fast enough in a heavy rain. I drilled 3 inch holes in the top of this pipe every 3 - 4 feet and placed these grates on top. I then put large gravel on top to hold in place ....It works wonderful.

        A:  This grate will fit inside 3" SDR-35 pipe, 3" PVC fittings (and elbow for example, and 3" corrugated pipe.

          A:  Any 3”. It slips inside the pipe. Buy some 3/4” stainless sheet metal screws. Once the grate is in place drill a couple holes and secure it with the screws. I used 4

          A:  Hi Maciek, we do not offer a 3 inch drain pipe on HomeDepot.com. I suggest visiting or calling your local Home depot store for information on availability of drain pipes.
