Product Details

Draining areas filled with heavy mulch is no problem for the 6 in. Atrium Drain Grate. Leaves, mulch, and debris are trapped at the base, while the raised dome grate continues to drain water through from the top into drain pipe. The specially designed drain grate is designed to handle moderate flows of stormwater in mulched landscape beds, natural areas, and window wells. The 6 in. atrium dome drain grate has an open surface area of 28 sq. in. and a flow rate of 87 GPM. Connects to Spee-D Catch Basin Drain, 6 in. sewer and drain pipe & fittings, & 6 in. single-wall corrugated pipe for a soil-tight fit. Built to stand up to the elements, the drain grate (or drain cover) is made of polyethylene, a type of plastic, using a combination of virgin and recycled content treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking from the sun. As part of a complete drainage system, the grate blocks mulch, leaves, and debris as it drains water entering drain pipes. The pipes carry the water to a discharge point downstream such as a pop-up emitter, or percolates into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench. Q:I need a 5 in atrium drain cover to fit inside drain pipe to replace a broken one but cant find one! Can u help?

    A:  The Atrium grate is a simple, press fit to our drain pipe. The grates can be easily pushed into place and create a nice fit with the drain pipe.

    A:  The cover has a tight fit into the pipe. Just press it into place. No fasteners needed. The cover has a couple of raised areas around the connection area to keep it in place in the pipe. It can be easily removed for cleaning of the cover or pipe.

        Great off-label use to protect low flow manifolds in front yard landscape beds
        My lawn people and landscapers are always stepping on my low flow drip system manifolds in the front flower beds and breaking them. What a pain to replace!! I found these drain grates which with a little dremel tool modification work great as a cover to prevent anyone from accidentally stepping on my manifolds. Now I no longer spend my extra weekends repairing my drip system:-)

          Solid and effective
          I used this on a 6 in. catch basin. It works great, the only problem with it is the way I installed it. The catch basin is only an inch below soil and the grate about four inches tall. I built a little clay wall around the basin to hold more water so it works a little better. During rains, this grate works as designed; allowing water to flow in when there is debris. It also keeps my drain pipe clear for the most part. Because of the way I installed it, I remove the grate during heavy downpours to prevent all clogs. Everything has been okay in the 18 months since I installed it. If I ever have a lot of time on my hands, I will dig it all up and bury it deeper.
