Product Details

Remove the excess stormwater flooding your property, while keeping harmful leaves and debris out of your pipeline with the 8 in. Round Drain Grate. Fits over drain pipe or Spee-D Catch Basin Drain, and is ideal for draining light flows of stormwater from small lawns, landscaped areas, patios, and walkways. The 8 in. Round Drain Grate, also known as a drain cover, has an open surface area of 11.5 sq. in. and a flow rate of 35 GPM. Connects to the Spee-D Catch Basin Drain, 6 in. sewer and drain pipe & fittings, and 6 in. single-wall corrugated pipe for a soil-tight fit. The pipe grate is ADA Compliant. Built to stand up to the elements, it's made of polyethylene, a type of plastic, using a combination of virgin and recycled content treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking from the sun. As part of a complete drainage system, the grate drains water entering drain pipes. The pipes carry the water to a discharge point downstream such as a pop-up emitter, or to percolate into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench. Q:will this work on the older clay pipe. I have a cleanout pipe in my front yard.

Answer This Question

A:  The NDS 8" Grate is design to fit sewer and drain pipe. Clay pipe has a large inner diameter than sewer and drain pipe. The grate will fit loose in clay pipe.

    A:  The top dimensions of this part are 7.75" round. The part is 2.5" tall. The bottom dimensions are 5.75" round.

      A:  I won’t drive over it. It’s durable but not for a vehicle to drive over it. It would probably crack.

              This 8" green round drainage grate was exactly what I was looking for my backyard drain. I like the color as it blends in with the lawn grass. Also it's easy to edge or mow around it. The plastic is weighted enough so it doesn't move around (I placed the grate on top of the old in ground grate cover because the clay round ring that used to protect the grate had broken into pieces.). The grate works!
