A: The Plug would not need to be removed unless you are planning to access the pipe for cleaning, leaving the system open can cause any water in the line to freeze during winter. Please let us know if you should have any further questions or if we can help in any way.
A: Hi Ronald, our cleanout plug is intended to be used on a female cleanout adapter (PVC S&D)
A: Yes you will have to have some type of socket/tool to fit the recessed hole. You may have something around the house or garage that would work. Perhaps a 1 inch X 1 inch piece of wood that could be reduced and shaped to fit the hole. Measure the recessed hole and see what you have that could be made to fit then use a pipe wrench or channel lock pliers to grip your home made socket to unscrew or screw the plug. I'm sure somebody makes a tool to fit if you want to buy one. Ask a plumber.
