My Hansgrohe Talis M 04710xx0 faucet is currently fitted with a Neoperl 2.2 GPM Tom Thumb-Size PCA Aerator. This faucet has a spray feature, and the aerator is installed within the ring of spray orifices. I used the key provided with the faucet to install the aerator, which is a larger key than that provided with the aerator. I'd like to replace the aerator with a 1.5 GPM model, and I'm pretty sure a 1.5 GPM Tom Thumb-Size PCA Water-Saving Aerator will replace it. But the PCA Cache model with service key looks more attractive for this since it can be easily serviced with the included key without disturbing the spray ring. Will it fit in the space where the 2.2 GPM aerator is now? The 2.2 GPM unit now in place does not have the key feature.

As long as the threading and physical dimensions i.e. diameter and depth are the same, it should work as a replacement.

What size is the diameter of the threads? Looking for a 3/8 size so it will screw into faucet.

What size is the diameter of the threads? Looking for a 3/8 size so it will screw into faucet.
Asked by: Bob
The threads on the Tom Thumb size aerator are 16.5mm outside diameter or 0.6496". 3/8" is awfully small for an aerator, but that would be 0.375" which is much smaller. These are typically used for "hidden" aerators that do not have an exposed ring threading into the faucet. Instead these thread directly into the faucet and are flush with the tip of the spout.
