Product Overview

The Danco HYR451T HydroRight Total Repair Kit increases your toilet’s efficiency with an included Dual Flush Converter that will save water by reducing the amount of water used with each flush. The HydroRight will also help solve the most common leaking issue in toilets, a non-functioning flapper. The Dual Flush Converter sits vertically and solidly onto the flush valve opening to create a better seal and eliminate the possibility of leaks. No more leaky flapper, tangled chains or handles that have to be jiggled. The Total Repair Dual Flush Valve quickly and easily converts a standard toilet into a two-handle, dual flush toilet. The short center lever is the Quick Flush setting that uses significantly lower water volumes for liquids and paper - the setting needed 4 out of 5 times. The second complete push lever at end is the Full Flush that uses the normal amount of water for solids. Designed for drop-in installation, the HYR451T can be installed in without tools and without having to remove the tank.

Yes, it should work. Just make sure you have the rubber piece pushed down making a good seal before you tighten the zip tie to secure it.

Try adjusting the screw (attached to the vertical stem). This is the second model I've owned and prefer the older model to this one.

This item can't be used to repair a toilet with top-of-tank dual flush buttons. However, I believe Home Depot online item# 205114910 (you can just enter that number into the site search) would fit the toilet you describe.

It has settings you will need to adjust to use more water or less water. You will need to guess how much water usage you will use and how much effort it takes for a 3.5 gallon flush does it take to successfully flush. I had a $1300 Kohler toilet that used 3.5 gal per flush and replaced it with a 1.3 gal per flush. Saved a lot of money so I replaced two other older toilets with the 1.3 gal per flush. Todays toilets have superior flushing power compared to the older toilets.

This fits over an overflow tube, so of you don't have one, it won't work.

Danco has setting to flush half or full tank, that saves the water. It's really makes economical by cutting down the water bill The repair kit ido not include outflow, require using existing one. In my case I had to buy flushing parts kit from other company that for 10 USD for the overflow pipe. Recommend Danco should provide complete set for replacement. Also provide clear indication on handle for half & full flush. Overall very good - once installed.

simpke upgrade
I read the review complaining that the system would have a slow leak due to the cable tie not being tight enough or breaking. After installing mine i started to notice tge water running even though i had the cabke tie tight. So i went back to HD and got a #4-40x1 stainless steel screw and nut and installed it abd removed the cable tie, problem solved abd plunger unit is securly in place. If yuu are having issues yiu might try this fix. I would have given it five stars if Danco woukd have thought if this fix.

Okay, we had 6 of these. We replaced two so have four installed. First, that work well once once you understand how to make the adjustments. They have lasted longer than the traditional flapper valves. However, two things you need to understand. First, in central Texas, we have very hard water, even with a water softener. The supplied zip tie - scrap it and use a much stronger zip tie. All of the zip ties have broken on all six valves. They just break. Several flushed down and I never saw the remains. With my heavier zip ties, they have not broken. If the zip tie breaks, the unit can become dislodged. If dislodged, you could have non stop running water. Second, the black rubber washer that sits above the zip tie. On 4 of the units, the rubber turns to a gel making it unfit for its purpose which is to keep the central piece from moving up the bowl housing. The zip tie and rubber washer are what attaches the unit to your bowl. Last month, my son hears a noise and enters our master to see water on the floor in the bathroom, toilet room and master closet. Fortunately my bride called me quickly and turned the water off on the bottom of the toilet. The zip tie broke and the newly discovered gelled rubber washer could not hold the unit in place, so it fell over. When it did, the small water supply tube pointed up to the tank cover. Since it fell over, the water was draining, causing the water supply to turn on. The water hit the bottom of the tank cover and spilled down the outside of the tank. Gads. I contacted Danco and notified them of the problem. BTW, my neighbor has same unit and his zip ties broke also. I asked Danco to sell me 4 new rubber seals. To my surprise, the sent me four new units. These units had the old cheap zip tie, but I did get new seals. I like the valves and still have them installed. The zip tie replacement is easy. Finding a washer is difficult. Keep an eye on it.

VERY easy install. Directions are 80% effective, which by today’s standard is amazing. My only real complaint is on the silver handled version there is no way to see the difference. It has two very faint markings. It would be nice to have them in color or maybe text. Your family will understand, but guests won’t have a clue. No major tools needed for install. Went together quick and easy. Only suggestion would be careful placing the first piece when they tell you to line it up with the back of the stool. There was too big of difference to that height and my bowls fill tube. It was easy enough to lower, but took a moment to back track. I really like it enough I am considering replacing my other two stools.

Easy to install. Replaced an older (7 years) one that locked up and wouldn't flush anymore. This one flushes smoothly and is pretty quiet. Also, it uses less water. Good product so far.

Difficulty to install. The manual does not help a lot with directions. R upecommend watching a YouTube video for ondtsllinsta. The partial flush does not work for me. However the full flush saves some water which I love. I like it but only wish the part flush worked for it to get 5 star.

good for 14 months.....
Replaced 3 toilets insides with this kit assuming we would save water. They have all been a little “quirky” by all flushing differently even though all the settings are the same. Every once in a while i would have to press them down to ensure they were sealing/seating properly. Then at 14 months, on a 12 month warranty, 2 fail in the same way. The plunger/flapper part does not have enough weight/force to seal and it dripps CONSTANT! I spent 2 hrs trouble shooting and even added a spring to hold down preasure to no evail. The rubber parts are warrped and worn out. The whole assembly is made of snap together plastic and there are quite a few isses that i see NOW. Quality costs money...simple.
