I used a plastic bag as a liner in one of the tiers (each order comes with three tiers) and poured in some water. It held about a gallon. 1 gallon = 0.134 cubic feet, so you'll need 0.4 cubic feet to fill all three tiers. I used these measurements and it worked for me. I used Miracle Grow potting soil and a little compost for my strawberries. Happy planting!
No you will have to water each segment, the only way the water would seep through each of the tiers, is through the middle section hole. However, if you have a pipe in there, the pipe would need to be smaller than the hole, will it seep to the next level. Eventually into the bottom tray.
The specifications for this 3-pack planter set indicate the following dimensions: * **Container Height:** 7.5 inches * **Container Length:** 13.0 inches * **Container Width:** 13.5 inches Please double-check the specifications for the 6-pack planter set you are comparing it to, to confirm any size differences. It is possible there may be a misunderstanding or error in the information you encountered.
Hello terrace, You could separate them but you would need 2 additional saucers. Thank you for your inquiry. Charlotte from The Home Depot How To Community
Yes, but they do not indicate where to find the spare chains. There is an address for the manufacturer's website on the instruction sheet, maybe they have a spare. They indicate you can use a pipe to affix the unit to the ground, if you punch a hole in the bottom tray. You may want to check and see if they have spare trays, so you don't have a water fall in each location.
I guess it would depend on how you intend to support it. The planter itself isn't very heavy, but once the soil, water and plants get inside it gets pretty heavy. Each tier holds about a gallon of soil, so that's 3 gallons. I bought three and stacked them into two different strawberry towers, put them on the ground and supported it with PVC pipe and a wooden dowel. Hope that helps!
The entire stack is 12 inches as each planter is 7.5 inches high.
The product information states that the container height of each individual planter is 7.5 inches. A previous question about the total height of the stacked planters indicates it is 12 inches, which aligns with three tiers at approximately 7.5 inches each. Your initial estimate of 4 inches per tier is incorrect based on the specifications.
