Great design, shoddy construction. The wire basket is attached to the inside of the frame with heavy duty staples, two on each side, at the top of the opening. However, one of the staples on my feeder was not really attached. The staples allow the wire basket to swing slightly, which would make the staples loosen over time, especially with large woodpeckers and squirrels hanging on it. I was able to bend down the one staple that was sticking out (see my pictures). I also wrapped some 20 gauge black craft wire around the bottom of the basket to keep it more secure. My feeder only has 3 grooves cut into it, and the cut edges had splinters. So then I had to sand the cut edges. With my improvements, I expect the feeder to work well. But when I spend $21 for a piece of wood, I shouldn't have had to make any improvements.
