Made in the Unites States, NC Composites patented, neighbor-friendly and sustainable modern fence stands the test of time. Our proprietary composite wheat-based formula ensures a wood-like look and feel that avoids the maintenance hassles of traditional wood. Engineered as a ready-to-install system, each fence panel includes all necessary components, including 2-posts, 2-post caps, 5-boards and all necessary hardware, eliminating the need to buy extra components. We take pride in our carpentry-free installation design, which avoids cutting tools and offers easy-to-follow visual aids for all skill levels. For projects requiring multiple sections, calculating the number of additional panels is a breeze-divide the total linear feet required by 6 ft. Our design incorporates 2-installation aids: a visual stick for precise post depth and a steel cable for optimal spacing. Save time and money with our innovative fencing systems.

Thank you for your question! For best results, we recommend digging 12-inch diameter holes at least 26 inches deep, setting the posts 24 inches below grade. However, if in-ground installation isn’t possible—such as on concrete patios or driveways—our posts can still be surface-mounted using common bracket systems. While this method doesn’t provide the same level of structural integrity as direct burial, it remains a practical solution in many situations. Our U-posts are compatible with hardware like the RPBZ ZMAX Galvanized Retrofit Post Base for double 2x4 nominal lumber. However, we recommend you purchase our Commercial-Grade Posts for a stronger and more polished installation, originally designed to support gates (buy them on Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Natures-Composites-5-x-5-x-94-in-Composite-Commercial-Grade-Post-with-Post-Cap-Designed-for-Hanging-NC-Gates-Rosewood-300755WE094-C/335269211). These posts can be placed between each panel and anchored using the E-Z Base Black Powder-Coated Post Base for 4x4 Nominal Lumber. For added strength, we recommend inserting a 4x4 pressure-treated wood post inside the bracket and the composite post in this configuration. This ensures better support for screws and results in a sturdier overall installation. Additionally, securing the fence to an adjacent structure—such as a house, wall, or corner—will help minimize movement, as angles provide natural reinforcement. Thank you for your question Maria. The color is black! If you want to see it more clearly, here is a previous client project in Semi-Privacy Full Size - Raven: https://www.naturescomposites.com/blogs/client-projects-and-testimonials/diy-done-right-a-bold-semi-privacy-fence.
Thank you for your question! Yes—but we do not recommend it. Reducing the gap will change the overall panel height and the required post burial depth, so you’ll need additional boards and materials. It also falls outside the product warranty. If you still want to proceed, we can guide you through the layout, provide a precise materials list, and support your installation. Please call (307) 338-2608 or email sales@naturescomposites.com. For best performance and warranty coverage, install as designed with the 1.5" spacing.
Thank you for your question Jeff! Yes, our fencing can be installed on a slope! There are two common approaches: racking and stepped. We recommend the stepped method, which involves planning each section to follow the slope in “steps” for a clean and secure installation. Because our U-Channel posts hold the boards in place, racking (following the slope continuously) is not recommended, as the boards could potentially come out of the channel. If you do prefer a racking look, the boards will need to be cut at an angle to fit securely. If you’d like, we can guide you on the best approach for your specific slope to ensure a smooth installation. Please call us at (307) 338-2608 or email sales@naturescomposites.com for any questions or guidance!
Thank you for your interest in our products Patio. Yes, our proprietary wheat-based composite formula can be cut just like wood using standard wood-cutting tools. However, please note any NC Gates and Vertical Fence models cannot be cut under any circumstance. When cutting a fence panel or ranch rail down, make sure to cut all boards at the same place to avoid creating an uneven alignment. Once the panel is cut, you will also need to adjust the Top Cable Assembly, which helps keep the posts plumb and properly spaced. To do this, cut the top cable to the desired length and remove the top cable bracket at the end, as it will need to be replaced. You will need to purchase an aluminum ferrule and stop set to reattach the shortened cable, ensuring it functions correctly (we recommend this one: We recommend this ferrule: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-16-in-Aluminum-Ferrule-and-Stop-Set-43274/205883075). You can reattach it by hitting it with a hammer to crimp it back into place. Following these steps will help maintain proper spacing and stability during your fence installation. Thanks for your question, Sara! Our composite fencing is very durable, but like most composite materials, it’s not designed to withstand repeated impact from string weed trimmers. Frequent contact with a high-speed nylon string can scuff, scratch, or chip the surface over time. That said, many of our customers successfully maintain clean edges by trimming a few inches away from the fence and finishing the area by hand or with mulch or stone. With a little care during lawn maintenance, your fence will stay looking great for years! Let us know if you have any other questions—we’re happy to help!
Thank you for your question Dale! The Square-Edge Boards included in our Semi-Privacy Modern models are 1" x 6" x 67". Each panel includes spacers to create a 1.5" spacing between boards.
