A: It is flat sheet metal with a 1 inch (approximate) bent edge. it is not manufacturer well in regards to a level edge around the circumference of the lid. Do not know the guage of the metal thinner than I expected.
A: Hi Greenie, The Fire Pit Cover has an inch lip and constructed of 16 gauge pregalvanized steel. If you have more questions please visit our website at www.outdoorlivingkits.com and fill out at contact form.
A: Hi Mo, No the cover is not for extinguishing fires it is just to be used after fires are cooled to keep debris out.
A: Yes it completely covers the pit opening. Has tabs that hold it in place. No animals can get in it. The lid has a slight dip in it, so it DOES hold a small puddle of water after rain. This kind of disappointed me as it has already started to oxidize/discolor.
A: The cover sits on top of the fire pit, there are not feet, just a 1 inch lip all the way around.
A: The cover weighs 23 pounds.
A: I'm guessing about 30 to 35 lbs. It's solid steel so quite heavy.
A: Hi Liz, the cover is 25 lbs.
