Item was delivered totally falling apart. Once assembled the fire pit looks wonderful. Easy to assemble, completed in an hour. I was going a bit slowly because I wanted to make sure it looked right. Used the metal ring as a guide for all three levels. Ring is two levels high, assembled first level, didn't remove ring, simply lifted four bricks at a time when adding the adhesive.

Beware, colors are off...I ordered the Desert color and the it looks red. Like red brick. Does not match the image online. Luckily HD is very accommodating and going to do a pick up without charge and allow me to reorder in the Santa Fe color. The fire pit looks great. Looks to be heavy duty. Can't wait for the new one to arrive!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! It's beautiful. Took an hour to build start to finish, this includes unloading it from the pallet and hauling it to the backyard, by myself (my husband was unavailable). Received the item and it was assembled so it made it easy to see what the finished product would look like. Mine shipped with 3 "extra" stones which was nice because I didnt have to use the couple with larger, chipped corners. The gloves were the perfect touch! So happy they were included. You definitely need to remember to get the 29oz caulk gun if you don't have one. I bought the additional cap for the top of the fire pit and there was enough caulk for that as well. Mine is on a concrete deck by the pool. I filled it with 7 bags of gravel and 4 bags of sand.

Very happy with this fire pit. Super easy to assemble. Make sure you have a caulking gun for large tubes. They sent the stone adhesive but it's not the standard tube size.

This kit is a good value. It arrives assembled. I had it shipped to my local store. I had to disassemble it to get it home (it all fits in the back of a Prius). Several of the blocks were chipped but I just picked those out and used them for the bottom course of block. It is extremely easy to assemble. The only thing you need in addition to the kit is a level and a large caulk gun.

            Easy project to assemble
Very simple to put together and enjoy a fire all in the same night. Our individuals form our group home love to look at the sky line and cook some s'mores, relax and sit by the fire.

            Simple, functional, attractive...
This fire pit was easy to assemble and provides a nice centerpiece for our patio. It is important to have a level spot to start. There are two main components - the steel liner and the stones. Although the steel liner is designed to rest inside the two uppermost rings of stone, we used it as a template when placing the lower tiers. Once those stones were in place, we pulled out the liner and continued with the top layer. We opted to not use the adhesive just in case we wanted to move the fire pit. The stones fit so well that the final product is very stable. Read other reviews for tips on the adhesive. I chose to have the product delivered and it was a good investment. It'd take some work to get it on and off a truck without some sort of forklift. The entire parcel arrives on a pallet (see photo), wrapped in plastic, and pre-assembled. The downside is that you have to take it apart to install it. The upside is that you know what it's supposed to look like when you're finished.

            Can't beat it!
I love it! I had it shipped to my local HD store. It comes assembled on a wooden pallet. With a fork lift, the folks at HD loaded it into my pickup truck. Couldn't have been easier. Rather than digging a whole in my yard and filling it with stone to set the pit, I used 2"x16"-square pavers for a flat and level base. 16 pavers gave me a 64"x64" base on which to set the fire pit. It took about four hours, for two of us, to complete the project. The majority of the time was given to digging, leveling, sanding and setting the 16-inch square pavers. (Dug 2 inches deep, added one inch of sand for leveling and set the pavers about one inch AGL.) After that, the pit was erected in less than an hour. It comes with a steel fire ring that helps to perfect the radius of the pit, along with cement that assures the pit blocks will not shift out of place. Also included in the "kit" is a pair of heavy duty work gloves that were appreciated, but a little bulky for the work required. Don't leave The HD store without a large caulking gun. The tube of cement that comes with the kit will not fit in the typical household caulking gun. The weather in my area hasn't been real chilly yet, but I've used the pit a couple times. It works fine! Highly recommend it.

Great kit for an informal fire pit!
The kit, weighing over 1000 pounds, arrives at the store on a pallet. Two HD guys helped me unload the pallet and load each block into my Outback..... very helpful. Kit comes complete with everything needed, but I had to buy an extra tube of adhesive to finsh the job. If you don't have a LARGE caulck gun, pick one up before you leave HD. Be aware that a good wire brush is needed to clean dust from the blocks before gluing. Note that there are 3 extra blocks shipped with the kit!! For the finished product... it's a nice firepit. The blocks have slight spacing between them so the pit is vented as needed. The steel ring IS very heavy duty. It should last a lifetime. As with any project, prep is the key... I put in a stone base set the pit on stone pavers. Once glued and assembled, this is a great-looking, sturdy fire pit at a great price (purchased on sale). I would recommend!

            Nice, BIG Fire Pit !
Came preassembled and shrink wrapped on a pallet and requires disassembly to move it to the desired installation location. We unwrapped the pallet, removed the metal ring and, in order to reassemble it the same way it came, numbered the brick rows on the inside of the pit with a marker (top row was all 1's, 2nd row all 2's, etc.). The pit comes with everything you need EXCEPT one thing, the 29oz caulk gun needed for the gigantic tube of brick adhesive in the box. Since we, like most folks, only had the typical 10oz caulk gun, it required an extra trip to the local HD for the bigger gun ($10). Other than that, delivery, condition, installation, looks ... all great !

The product was delivered shrink wrapped and in perfect condition. The Fire Pit was leveled on a cement slab and it took us less that a day to install and complete. What a great product and very easy to assemble...

            Fantastic Fire Pit!!!!!!
This was a great Christmas present for my wife. I had it deleivered to the store to saved some money, but I would have it delivered to the house if I was doing it again. It is VERY heavy and it fully assembled on a pallet. I had to unload it brick by brick. I poured a 56" across by 4" high slab of concrete a week before picking up the fire pit. This was the hardest part. I assembled the pit in less than an hour. It really turned out great and works like a charm!

Basic, easy to install, serves its purpose well.
Product showed up on a pallet in setup formation. I just had to set it up again on my patio using the included construction adhesive. All the stones were in good condition. The steel inner liner is heavy duty (more so than expected) which was a nice surprise. There is a nice looking 'stone' cap available for this kit (not offered by HD) that I ordered from another retailer. This particular fire pit was setup with a propane burner. Everything went together nicely and I am enjoying regular fires on the patio.

The overall appearance and performance of this "fire pit" is outstanding.
The toughest part of this installation is getting the area ready for the blocks. While you could just place on a solid level area, we dug out a 16 foot circle 4" deep, then a 5 foot circle another 6" deep to place in a concrete footer with a 2" foot hole in the middle for drainage. Once the concrete ring base was ready for installation (Note: I used plastic 4" edging to make the inner and outer circles of the foundation with many supports around the inside and outside). The actual building of the block fire pit took less than 45 minutes. Then back filled the entire area with two tons of 3/4" River Jack Stone. The instructions are easy, caulking is included (need a large caulking gun) and even included heavy duty gloves. Looks great and finished with the black metal ring around the top.

            Santa Fee Fire Pit
I ordered this pit and it was delivered as offered. It was easy to assemble, about 1 hour, as the instructions were very clear. It is exactly what we wanted and it will be a very attractive feature for our backyard. I particularly liked the inclusion of gloves and bonding material in the price.

            wonderful
very easy to put together took no time at all (if you prepare the ground a head of time) you do however need a large calking gun not the small household one that most have. You do have to wait 72 hours before use.

The fire pit came fully assembeled on a pallet. My husband had prepared the ground the weekend before with sand and gravel. It took us 45 minutes to put together. The crowd enjoyed it thru the Thanksgiving weekend. A wonderful way to spend time outdoors when the weather is cool! The pavers matched or path- way perfectly!

Set it up Halloween Day, 2012. Took about an hour to get the first course down and leveled. About another hour and a half to get the second and third courses down and glued. Had a social gathering the following weekend and received a ton of compliments. Super easy, professional appearance, great value.

              Amazing Custom Look Fire Pit
I put this fire pit together by myself in 30 minutes. It matches my round paver patio perfectly! Complete with the hinged spark screen, I've been building roaring fires, spending hours relaxing with friends in our Adirondack chairs. Everyone who's seen it has been amazed by the looks, quality, and price.

This fire pit kit is awesome! We picked it up at my local Home Depot using two SUVs due to the weight of the kit. (It weighs about 1,000 lbs.) Preparing the foundation for the fire pit took about 5 hours and required approximately 400 lbs of gravel and 100 lbs of sand. Building the fire pit on the foundation took about 1 hour. I used an additional 300 lbs of sand to fill the pit to the bottom of the metal insert. Note that I did not opt to use lava rock. I also ordered the fire pit capstone, (8 pieces), and installed it a couple weeks after building the fire pit. Took about 45 minutes to install. The capstone adds that finishing touch to the fire pit and it looks great. My only suggestion is that when preparing the foundation, make sure it is level. Other than that, no issues. Super easy!
