Can i put this on wooden deck?

Asked by Tam May 6, 2020

Answer

Yes but first you must make sure that the deck is structurally sound first.

Does it get more slippery than usual decking, when wet?

Asked by MM September 30, 2018
1
Answer

Hi, MM. While all material has some slipperiness, the nature to which you may feel it is slippery would vary based on the contact material (i.e. the material on the bottom of your shoe). We do not anticipate an excessive level of slipperiness with this material. You will also find some of the slipperiness to be mitigated by the grain pattern. If you have specific concerns, we encourage you to test a sample. Feel free to reach out to us via the customer inquiry form on our website at http://www.newtechwood.com/us/contact.html with your name, address, phone number, email, and the product(s) and color(s) for which you would like a sample.

How do I install this on a raised deck to make sure the tiles don't shift off the raised deck? In other words, is there an extra piece offered to lock

Asked by KG February 29, 2016
1
Answer

This can not be installed on a frame joisted system. It has to be on a solid surface, I will assume that this raised deck is already decked out. You are just using this material to cover it. Make sure first that your structure and boards are sound. There is no locking piece to the substructure. Our suggestion is to use liquid nail on the outside pieces of all your deck tiles to lock all of them into place. Although once attached together they behave as one unit. Each piece is 2.2 lbs each they becomes quite heavy once attached together.

Easy install, especially if the area covered is not up against structures. Looks great. Little “crunchy” noise when walked on. NOT slippery when wet.
