Yes you can install it on a ceiling. The only difference is that you need to install it on 12" joists instead of 16" joists.

While the NewTechWood US09 All Weather System siding is more often installed horizontally, vertical installation can be done, with some variation from the standard horizontal installation. While our warranty is for 10 years, we expect the product to last longer than that. It would not be worth damaging the product in this way, despite the expiration of the warranty. Additionally, paint will not stick to the decking, although certain plastic-specific paints may last longer. Nevertheless, it is not advised to paint the material as it will not stay.
