Product Overview

UltraShield naturale Outdoor composite deck tiles by NewTechWood. We are proud to introduce our newest line of deck tiles the naturale line. We have outfitted these deck tiles with the most realistic looking composite on the market today. The naturale embossing gives these deck tiles that exotic wood look. These tiles are a quick and easy fix for covering up that old cracked or unsightly concrete patio or balcony. These deck tiles snap together in a flash and they allow rain water to run through. Made from high density recycled plastic composite material, they are the perfect solution for that roof top patio or deck. Additionally they're manufactured using our proven UltraShield technology, which encapsulates the core material with a multi-chromatic poly shell to protect it from the elements. Best of all, if you move, simply unsnap them apart and take them with you. Ultra low maintenance, ultra durable, ultra beautiful.

How do these hold up in snow, ice, and below freezing temps in winter?

Asked by Susan February 20, 2021

Answer

Good question Susan. I live in the Phoenix area...pretty warm here. I will venture a guess that these would hold up just fine under snow and ice. You can send for a sample for a small fee. I did and then I could see the product up close. I am very impressed at these composite tiles. They come in a variety of colors. Good luck!

Answer

These get so hot in Wisconsin that we had to put up a sun sail to keep them cool. If these, like most resin decking are in direct sun they will get hot enough to prevent you from walking on them without shoes. Be extra careful with pets on these.

What do I install this over

Asked by Barbara February 9, 2021

Answer

An existing patio, an existing balcony, or an existing deck.

Can u install it over existing deck made of wood?

Asked by Martin February 6, 2021
1
Answer

Absolutely, as long as the wood is solid and not rotten. I did mine about 4 years ago and haven't had a problem. Like any composite material it does get hot in direct sun and is slippery when wet from rain and snow but it doesn't fade or twist.

Hello, can i put a barbecue and a fire pit on these tiles?

Asked by Sev January 8, 2021
1
Answer

You can put a normal bbq grill on these but a fire pit would most likely melt the tiles. The tile are a type of plastic and I wouldn’t think that they could withstand much heat especially as in a fire pit.

Can this be put directly on top of grass?

Asked by JS January 8, 2021
1
Answer

While you do not have to place the deck tiles on concrete, we strongly recommend installing them on a clean, flat surface. You would therefore want to prepare the area by crushing the gravel and compacting the layers. 2 Inches of gravel covered by 1 inch of sand.

Does this require edging to be purchased additionally? If so which is best?

Not if you are doing an enclosed porch. Yes if your porch or deck does not have a raised lip. Edging gives a finished look to your project.

I don't think I'd trust these lay in tiles to anchor or weigh anything down.

Could u anchor a 5x8 canopy to this decking?

Asked by EJ December 25, 2020
1
Answer

No you can't. This is a "floating" deck system and is not secured down. Also it is designed to to expand and contract. If you bolt something into it, that will cause buckling. You could cut large enough holes through this decking to allow it to expand and contract and secure the canopy to the wood underneath or else just get a sun sail to block the sun.

Beware of Newtech wood swelling issues
Newtechwood swells in rainy conditions at every end regardless of sealant. Regular boards and starter boards both swell terribly in any wet conditions. See pictures.

Very durable tiles. Click in place easily. I went right over the concrete. I did half my deck with the tile and the other half laid the green turf rug...Made a big difference in the ambience of my little patio. You can lay these in different patterns but I liked the straight across pattern.

Excellent Quality Product
The quality of this product is absolutely excellent. We ordered 20 boxes of New Tech Wood Ultra Shield Naturale1 tiles (10 tiles per box) in Westminster Gray and another 11 boxes of the single slat tiles (1 foot long, 4 tiles per box). From reading other reviews we thought the color may not match, but all matched perfectly. They were VERY easy to put together. I was amazed at the accuracy of the product, absolutely every tile fit together perfectly. And the product feels very solid underfoot. Be sure to over order as the tiles are slightly under 12" x 12". The finish part of our tiles measured 11 13/16" by 11 11/16". The tabs used to attach to the other tile extend a little further resulting in the total measurement being 12” x 12 1/16”. I easily used a circular saw to trim some of the edge tiles and cut to size as needed. We installed it on a tar and gravel roof top deck which has seams that are not flush. So the finished product is naturally a little wavy but the product bends slightly along the slats with the seams, so we are very pleased. It took me 2 - 3 months of checking back daily until this product was in stock, but it was worth it. Hint: check the availability yourself, if you wait for the Home Depot email notification, it will be out of stock again.
