Hi, this product is indeed out of stock and is reflected in our inventory to Home Depot. We are unsure why this listing is not accurately reflecting this information. That being said, a shipment of this material is en route and should arrive in early August. You will receive an email when the item is back in stock if you enter your email address under where it says "Receive an email if this item is back in stock." on the Home Depot listing here.
The community answer is correct. The tiles lock together via the unique connection system. Please note that they do contain screws and you would need a screw driver to remove the screws before cutting the deck tiles.
YES
The Community Answer is correct. As 18 feet by 20 feet is 360 square feet and each box of five 3x1 deck tiles covers 15 square feet, you would need 24 boxes total.
Hello KK. We appreciate your interest in NewTechWood deck tiles. We strongly recommend installing our deck tiles on a clean, flat surface. Therefore, you can, but you would need to either pour concrete or prepare the land the same way as you would using stone or concrete pavers. If you place the deck over the grass without prepping it, if the ground were to shift, the decking would also shift. If you have any further questions please contact us at inquiry@newtechwood.com or call us at 832-570-6450.
The are 5 pieces
13.1 or 14 boxes.
Hi. The Community Answer is correct. It is true that all composite material does get hot in direct sun exposure. We do recommend shading this product as well as using lighter tones if you live in an area which gets hot. Regarding the expansion noted in the Community Answer, this depends on when the deck tiles were installed. If they are installed in colder temperatures, when it warms up, they will expand and if installed in colder temperatures, they will contract. We do recommend acclimating the product to the environment in which they will be installed (i.e. leaving them outside) if great temperature changes are possible in your location.
A slight slope shouldn't be a problem as long as it a firm flat surface. It will get hot if its exposed to intense direct sunlight, as does any composite decking so be careful with pets and bare feet.
