Yes it can, but why would you. If you are going to paint i would go with real wood. This wood is maintenance free. I would think this material is much stronger than the 2x6 pine. James

When installing boards using the T-spacers between, 10 boards wide will cover 57" or 4.75'. 4.75'x16'= 76 SF. Always use T-spacers between the boards because PVC composite boards have much more temperature related expansion and contraction than wood.
