Newhouse Hardware's CHM3D door chime is intended for hardwired installation, and may be used with one or two doors. It features two distinctive chimes, one for the back door and one for the front, so you'll know which door to head to. Powered by a 16-volt AC transformer, sold separately (search Newhouse Hardware model#: 16TR or 3TRAN). Added design and texture allows the wired door chime to camouflage into your walls. AnswersIf your current doorbell is working there is no need to replace the transformer or move it unless of course the transformer is exposed when you move the doorbell. Just simply run a wire from the current location of the transformer to the doorbell's new location.

AnswerThis is an "old style" hard-wired, ding-dong door bell. It works great but it is a "dumb" doorbell. It would take some type of relay interface to make this woll with a smart system...so the answer is no.

The Newhouse system is very easy to install and very stylish. It has the front and rear accessory panel for the doorbell‘s as the front doorbell rings twice in the rear doorbell will ring once.
The only reason for the four star rating is because it’s not as loud as I anticipated. I live in a two-story Victorian home which is about 1500 ft.² and sometimes it’s difficult to hear the doorbell with all the windows open on spring days.

The wring of the door bell is straightforward and general and the same as most common doorbells, This makes it convenience if you are replacing an existing door bell. It is designed with two chimes. One for the front door and the other for the back door. It has four mounting holes on the back plate to attach to the wall. Once attached the cover easily attaches to the wall plate. It does not come with a transformer so if you are doing a fresh install you will need to get a 16v transformer. The cover is attractive and can be put in any room. It is a little cheaply made but certainly gets the job done.

This door chime works very well. The instructions were clear and installation was very easy. It has the standard ding dong, which is loud enough to be heard in our one story home. It has two chimes, but we are only using the one for the front door. We do not have these devices, but it is compatible with ring doorbells, nest hello, and other smart doorbells. It is simple and classic in appearance.It has a three year warranty. The price is very reasonable as well. You will need a 16 volt AC transformer, which is not included. I am very satisfied with this product.

Clean fresh modern looking door chime. Easy to use as a replacement for old tired looking chime from the 80's. The exterior body of the chime has a unique brushed finish that goes well with any decor. From a distance doesn't look like plastic. Easy to hook up and install, with enclosed directions and further diagrams printed on the chime body . Pleasant 2 tone chime for front door.

Great doorbell. Super simple and just works. Installation was easy and it works great with my Ring doorbell. The sound of the chime is the quintessential ding dong your used to.
Its not very loud, but it is loud enough. The white plastic is stylish, but also blends into the wall as it should It is not meant to be a focal point, but it doesn't have to be ugly!
Very happy with this doorbell...and so are my visitors when I open the door.

Had an electrician attempt to install with an Arlo doorbell. He claimed it didn’t work. It’s possible it was something outside the chime, but he was adamant it was the chime. Returned this.
