We ended up using more than 3 gallons of oil....
We ended up using more than 3 gallons of oil. We were also able to deep fry a 20lb Turkey. It was so tasty and juicy. This fryer was easy to assemble and clean up was easy.

After enjoying a deep fried turkey at a friends house last year it was nice to finally get one of my own. This 30qt fryer package has almost everything you need to get started. All you need to add is a full propane tank and whatever oil you choose to fry with. This can also be used as a large boil pot for crabs, lobster etc. The stand is very sturdy and sure. I did not feel like it would tip over even when full of hot oil and an 18 lb turkey. I chose to use peanut oil and on high this burner had the oil reaching a boil in about 10 minutes. Frying the turkey took another 50 minutes so I had a ready to go turkey in 1 hour. I was very impressed with how easy to use this was and how well built the whole setup was. I definitely recommend checking this fryer out.

My apologies for not taking a picture of the cooked bird. It was so delicious, I was starving, I forgot to take a picture.
As a turkey fryer this is a decent package. The oil costs about 1/2 the price of the fryer.
Couple of notes:
-The head on the thermometer twists easily and gets out of calibration. Fortunately I figured this out before trying to fry the turkey at 140 F.
-The button overrides the timer. I couldn't figure out why it would not stay lit... I hadn't turned on the shutoff timer. A different colored knob and some indication of how much time was left would help. I used a paint pen to make the status of the timer more obvious.
-The timer is a needed safety feature for cooking with oil, however it would be annoying for a lobster boil.
-There is no strainer for a seafood boil
While this thing is awesome, be supper careful. I turned mine off while slowly loading the bird in. Check the temperature frequently. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby that is rated for grease. Wear pants, closed toe shoes, long sleeves, gloves, safety glasses etc.
NEVER TRY TO PUT OUT A GREASE FIRE WITH WATER. Google it, there are some amazing grease fire videos out there.
Assembly took about 30 minutes.

30 quart turkey fryer holds up to an 18# turkey. This is a quality fryer with some safety enhancements over other models. There are safety rails to keep the pot from accidentally coming off the burner and makes it more difficult to to tip over. The burner has a sensor to prevent overheating, as well as a timer. While this is overall a very nice unit, there were some disappointing aspects. I'm so sick of non-verbal assembly instructions. The pictures were black and white and of low quality, making the process harder than it had to be. I ended up snapping a picture with my phone, then lightening and enlarging it to make it easier to decipher. Also, HD description shows this having a piezzo igniter but it does not. You have to supply an ignition source. There is a nice metal tag attached telling you to read instructions before attempting to light. However, while putting the instructions on the tag at the point of use would seem to be the intelligent thing to do, it instead refers you to the paper manual - which will probably disappear in a month so.

Our new Nexgrill 30 quart turkey fryer is doing a very nice job of frying turkeys and chickens. This new model has a couple safety features that our previous grill lacked. It has a thermocouple to turn off the propane should the burner flame go out and a timer (15 minutes max) that will turn off the flame if you don't reset it before 15 minutes expires. Comes with 12 inch stem thermometer that is easy to read. The burner is rated at 38,000 BTU which is fuel efficient and adequate. Flame size is controlled by the regulator attached to the propane cylinder. Being aluminum the 30 qt. pot is durable and lightweight for easy cleaning and handling. The turkey stand and hook to remove it from the pot are stainless, work well on a fairly large turkey, (up to 18 lbs), and are easier to clean but not as versatile as a basket. The burner requires a match to light it and does ignite easily. I have seen easier to follow assembly instructions, (all pictures), but was able to assemble it in about 40 minutes. All in all a good little turkey cooker that with proper care should give years of service.

The Nexgrill 30 qt turkey fryer is large enough to fry a large turkey, but I will probably get more use out of it cooking low-county boil. I do wish that it had a basket, which would make it even more versatile and allow frying fish and chicken wings without having to buy special utensils. The cooking pot may be dishwasher safe, but I know it is too large for my dishwasher. I will store the gas tank under my grill and the burner unit and cooking pot in my pantry to keep it clean. Maybe place plastic wrap around the burner tube to make sure no small insects climb in, between uses. It was easy to assemble with the step-by-step picture directions. All of the parts are heavy duty, and good quality, making me think that it will be around for many years.

I received my NEXGRILL 30 QT. TURKEY FRYER PACKAGE today. I was so impressed with the quality and features it has. It has the temperature gage and a timer. If you order it on line you do have to assemble it yourself. I’m not real good at it but I managed. We plan a party next weekend to cook seafood boil. This should work perfect. I can also cook a hen plus the turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
