My concern is durability. How long can i expect to be able to use this grill. My experience is these type of grills tend to rust and deteriorate quickly in the burner and bottom of the firebox area. Anyone having issues with this model?

Acquired my grill in May 2018, and use it frequently... Pure Junk!!! Igniter switch only lasted 6 months The catch pan and the burner covers have completely deteriorated and fallen apart. Nexgrill is truly the bottom line of grills for quality!

would an assembled one fit in the back of an SUV, Explorer?

It fit in my Highlander but we had to remove the lid first so you might want to bring some tools with you if you buy one that's already assembled. The people at HD were very helpful. It's light enough that I was able to take it out of the car by myself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The size of this grill is perfect but the quality seems lacking. The package was left outside in ... The size of this grill is perfect but the quality seems lacking. The package was left outside in my driveway in the rain by the deliveryman. Assembly was complicated by the fact that no owner manual or instructions were included with the packaging. I was left to search the internet for video and .pdf guides. One of the last steps is to mount and connect the side-burner but on my grill one of the three connecting screw holes was stripped right out of the box so the connection will necessarily be weaker than designed. Finally, although the unit has wheels there is no handle for moving it and the metal edges are all very sharp as evidenced by several cuts and scratches on my fingers. With that said, the grill fired right up and preheated quickly. However, based on my experience I would not buy this product again unless it came pre-assembled. I suppose these challenges are what I get for going with an inexpensive choice.

It's sleek looking and really gets the job done. I've only had it a few days and have only used it twice, but I've never been able to cook a better steak. Grill is awesome. Honestly, the directions are the reason for the 4 stars. Quite frankly, the directions deserve much less, but I didn't want to take away from the grills rating on the HD website.. There are only pictures to guide you, no instructions. If you have a drill, USE IT! Make sure to have an extension bit because let me tell ya, there are some SMALL nooks and crannies you need to get to. PRO TIP: if you Youtube this grill assembly, there's a 5 minute video that will literally walk you through the entire assembly; it nearly renders the directions useless. It took me about 3 hours to assemble, and you will definitely need a helper for a few steps. It's super easy to move. I only wish it had a little storage space. But, all in all, I'm really happy with it.

Five burners and a side burner that are great for steaks chicken fish veggies and anything you want to throw at it. I have owned this grill for over a year now and it has held up great. I let it heat up for five minutes and wire brush the ss grating and crack a cold one and get to work. It reaches temperature in minutes with only teo to three burners on and has a great even heat that is very controllable. We use this grill at least once a week and i have been very happy with the quality and durability. Assembly was a quick process despite what others have said and i would recommend this grill to anyone in the market for one to cook a wide range of food. Dont waste your money on the big names. Buy this grill

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nexgrill This is the second one of these ive owned in the last 6 years. They have slightly improved this grill. This newer model got rid of the cheap little clips that hold the flame guards in place and replaced them by putting debits in the main body so you dont have to worry about the clips heating up and falling off. The other improvement they made is that the flame guards are now slightly off level and slant towards the back if the grill. This grill gets HOT! With all five burners on high this thing will maintain nearly 700 degrees. With all five burners on low it maintains 450 degrees. 4 burners on low it will maintain right at 420 degrees. I recommend starting with for burners on low and add or subtract from there. I dont know what you would need 700 degrees for other than searing or cooking steaks. Anything else woukd pretty much turn to ash. The material is still cheap but what do you expect for a 200 dollar grill? Get a cover because this thing will rust the first time it gets rained on. If your ok replacing this thing every 5 or 6 years than I recommend it. If not go spend 1200 plus for a grill that is built with more quality materials that will withstand sitting outside for 10 years without rusting out.

It was on sale for $170 and he really wanted a big 5-6 burner grill. This has exceeded our expectations! We've had it for just over a month now and we do quite a bit of grilling. It is easy to clean, looks great, and we love the size for our family of four. The side burner is great for side dishes (corn on the cob, baked beans, etc). It lights easily with the push of the igniter button and heats up quickly. The thermometer on the outside is great for monitoring the temp. We keep our grill on our covered deck so it does not get weathered. We purchased this grill boxed in store and it was easy to assemble. It took about 2 hours, if that. This was a huge upgrade from our 2 burner Brinkmann that rotted out after 4 years, and was a toss up between a Weber, or this Nexgrill. For the price, we're glad we went with this one. It doesn't have the same warranties as the Weber but I think as long as it's taken care of, it should last for years.

I would imagine that without the heavier grade steel it won't last as long as more expensive grills, but if cleaned and kept from the elements it should work out well. It produces considerably more heat than most other models in this range.

The stainless hood and side tables make it look much more expensive. It is very heavy duty and we know it will last a good long time. We are in our 60's and my husband said he thinks this is the last grill we'll ever have to buy. The best part was getting it already put together since they had a bunch assembled at the store. There was no extra fee for the assembled grill. All we needed was our son's pickup truck to load it in and we were ready to cook on it that night. It lights easily and has a ton of grill space to cook for a crowd. I suggest wiping down the grates with some cooking oil before using to help it be more non-stick. Home Depot also sells a cover for this model that we ordered online for free store pickup.
