Product Details

Manufactured with specially formulated polyurethane and combined with fire retardants and UV inhibitors, NextStone insulated Faux Stone Post Cover Caps are cast from actual stone and rock patterns. The innovative post covers have been designed to totally limit the need to hire masonry installers, professional siding and decking installers or skilled laborers. Each of the easily managed, lightweight panels only weighs about 1 lb./sq. ft., removing the need to pay for additional materials, equipment or labor.
  • Lightweight polyurethane post cover caps are processed with an in-mold coating to prevent fading and are used to cap the NextStone slatestone post cover
  • Easily attached to the top of a NextStone slatestone post cover using a polyurethane adhesive
  • Post cover caps can be cut in half to make a split cap allowing posts to continue through the top
  • Cap light kits are sold separately

Q:What paint color should be purchased for touch ups?
by|Jun 5, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The Touch Up paint would be the color of the Main Product. i.e. Brunswick Brown, Himalayan Brown, Tuscan Brown. In any of these Paint Kits, there is a Bottle marked Trim. This is the Color you would use to touch up the Cap.

      Answer This Question

A:  The caps will have to be cut in half then the opening for the post to continue through would have to be jigged out. Here is a video showing exactly that: https://youtu.be/uK3sqsj6o2U

Post Cap is NOT true to size advertised
Unfortunately 10.5 x 10.5 post cap I received actually measured 10" x 10 1/4" I needed the 1/2" to create a reveal where now there is none. Pretty sure if I order another one it will come the same way because it's a molded product.

I needed to replace a set of 20 Western Red Cedar post caps since they had severely warped with the weather (being constructed of flat sawn rather than quarter sawn material). However, my posts were an odd size (8-1/4 x 8-1/4 inches). Finding quarter sawn cedar and milling my own set of caps crossed my mind -- but finding the material was next to impossible. The only available choices were few -- I received one quote for custom caps at $175 a pop! There were a few "plastic" caps available but they looked very cheap and artificial -- even more so with an oil stained (Sikkens Cetol) post. My railings between pillars were black wrought iron. I came across these on the homedepot.com site, and ordered one as a sample. The cap fit nicely on the existing post -- had to be a bit clever with an application of Loctite PL500 landscape adhesive since the rabbets on the NextStone caps did not quite match the dimensions of the post. But, with the PL500, the caps are solidly affixed to the posts. These look beautiful, and greatly enhance the look of my deck. I would highly recommend these caps (they come in a range of colors).
