Made of high quality, weather-resistant stainless steel, this ultra-handy accessory with its dual spring gates will hold, secure, and connect everything from keys to water bottles to gear. Smaller-sized S-Biners are excellent for connecting 2 zipper sliders on backpacks, duffels, and suitcases. We know that 1 size doesn't fit all, so we've designed 6 different sizes so you can choose the right size for the task at hand. We've found that the smaller sizes work great for hanging smaller items from a purse or backpack strap, attaching to individual keys, or hanging a plant from a ceiling hook. The larger sizes work great for bigger jobs like hanging a paint can from a ladder or a tool to your tool belt. But, the list goes on and on. What is the dimension of the space between the end of the "s" and the middle? Will it clear a 1" diameter rod?

How large is the hook. I need it to fit on to an 1 1/2” bar
It measures about 13/16 of an inch, but with the way it’s designed you’d be hard pressed to get anything bigger than 1/2 inch in there
will this clip onto a 1.5" diameter pipe?
MDH, I am afraid it will not. This S-Biner #5 has a max gate opening of .85". You would need to go all the way up to the S-Biner #10 Plastic to find one with a max gate opening large enough to clip over that pipe.
